Did anyone actually watch his game vs our horrid defense? He was terrible. All his yardage came on swing passed and check downs.

I know our game isn’t the end all be all, but I saw what I needed to see from him there.

I don’t think he’s bad, but definitely not as good as some make him out to be. I’ll take Beck 10/10 times

Only scenario is I’ll take J Smith and Mendoza over Beck and our current receivers. There was no receiver even close to Smith that was entering either portal.

Where is Mendozas NFL draft grade compared to Beck? Let’s be reasonable here folks. We assume portal WRs would have followed Mendoza here in the Fall portal. Big assumption. This kid is a really good college QB..but we needed a legit pro level QB and Beck is as good as we can get if he is 100%. I’m glad Mario didn’t lower the standard. Going from Cam to Mendoza? Yikes.

When you say it that way, it really makes it difficult to understand Mario’s viewpoint…..that’s assuming Mendoza wanted to play for Miami, which I’m trusting the sources that he did.

And that’s not even considering Beck’s surgically repaired throwing arm/elbow.

I just hope Mario/Dawson know what they’re doing

If it weren’t for the elbow, I’d agree. We just have such a slim margin for error in the QB room and really the state of Mario’s tenure, we cannot afford to take a step back this year.

Ceiling is higher with Beck, but floor is incredibly low if his elbow isn’t right or gets re-injured.

Floor is likely 8.5 wins with Mendoza but ceiling is probably 10.

At this point I’d rather go the “James Franklin” build a program model and constantly in the conversation than swing for gold, miss, and wind up with a 6 win season.
