$3M MORE than what Nike is offering us would be an absolute monster deal, probably one of the biggest in college sports. Nike pays schools pretty cheap.
This year FSU got $4,400,000 from Nike, Alabama got $3,570,000 and Ohio State got $4,164,014.
On the flipside Adidas pays big, $8,200,000 to Michigan this year, $7,500,000 to UCLA, $6,375,000 to Kansas, $5,550,000 to Tennessee.
Auburn and Maryland are getting $4,300,000 from UA.
ASU just got 33 million to switch to Adidas.
What happens when Miami gets more and people still think they are poor?
What happens when Miami gets more and then the Admin still refuses to pay Gorlden's buyout?

No debate there, but we will get a lot more outside of Nike when it comes to the dollars and cents part of sponsorships.
Just looked at the list of adidas sponsored schools and there is not one elite team, nor one elite recruiting team. Miss st, Wisconsin, Nebraska, UCLA, thats about it. I seriously think this switch would kill recruiting

It doesn't matter if we don't spend it on athletics (football).

They switched to Under Armour this year.
I was shocked when ND switched to UA.
I don't really think it matters too much in football. I actually think Addidas did some real cool things with unis this year with AtM, UCLA, Louisville and TAMU. Yeah they don't have a big portion of the market but they're obviously trying to get into it.
What's the big deal? Nike also has made some horrid uni designs.
Before I comment, I would like to know more about the financials.
So maybe Dapper or someone else with knowledge can answer the following.
1. How much do we currently make with Nike?
2. How much of that is a base versus from a split?
3. What kind of split do we have currently (Nike gets X and we get Y)?
It's not all financials but I would love to know more about the financials.
