Ferman reporting the money is now there to get Mario

Why would he come? Nostalgia? He's getting paid where he's at. He's recruiting well and at the top of a good power 5 conference. Playoffs and more is within his grasp.

Miami is almost a career ruiner at this point.
Cristobal is only getting $2.6 million a year at Oregon

Why do you think he wants to come to a worse situation with less money and support? Do you have any evidence whatsoever that he would possibly even want it? By your logic he should want to go to Western Kentucky to do what Petrino couldn't even do, and be king.

Remember he left Miami after a few days to take a similar job at Alabama.
If he comes to Miami, he will require certain demands and guarantees that people at UM have said they will make happen.

Facts. These people still think we matter enough to pull a guy like Mario. We don't. We're Wake Forest with cooler branding

You can believe what you like.

We can't pull any top coaches that don't have deep ties to Miami. That is a fact. Luckily, Mario has those deep ties and connections. There isn't another Mario out there right now.

He will get a raise and extension like Taggart did from the Ducks, it was coming anyway.. Then maybe he will jump on a plane and fly out and leverage The U for more than Oregon just offered him just like Willie did? Fun Fact Slick Willie was using Donors plane to visit recruits and took it to FSU for job interview in the down low... lmfao

Or maybe be flys out to the U first and then talks extension.. either way Mario was getting a raise

Let's add this up:

- Mario just won the Pac-12 in year 2 at Oregon
- Had the #13th ranked class in 2018, spearheaded by Penei Sewell who will likely be a 1st round draft pick
- Had the #7 ranked class in 2019 which featured the #1 ranked overall player in Kayvon Thibodeaux
- Currently has the 18th ranked class, with commits from the #1 ranked LB in the country in Justin Flowe & is still in contention for multiple high ranking prospects that will raise their class rankings come NSD February
- Has complete lockdown of local West Coast recruiting grounds with USC, UCLA & Washington all being down as programs
- Has total support from Oregon's administration, unlimited resources from Boosters & Nike money
- Has a highly supportive dedicated fanbase, playing in front of sold out On campus stadium every game
- Doesn't have to worry about people torching him & flying banners after one year if immediate expectations aren't met
- Is in the Driver's seat to dominate the Pac-12 conference for years to come given how weak it is
- Easy road to the playoffs IF he can manage an undefeated season in the near future
- Can recruit nationally & get high level kids up to Eugene, including Florida boys
- Top level facilities

OR...

- Come to Miami & deal with Mangina James, Jenn Strawley & a BOT that's on permanent vacation
- Won't be given enough money to hire the assistants you want
- Will not have necessary financial support from the administration, recruiting budget allocation will be pennies on the dollar
- Will have to recruit against major P5 schools for local recruits while having no Bag dropping support on the ground
- Boosters that don't give AF about football
- 2nd class facilities
- No on campus stadium
- Fickle toxic fan base that will be calling for him to be fired after the first game he loses
- Will be ridiculed & clowned in the media if you fail at your hometown school
- Play in half full stadium away from campus & will not have a patient supportive fan base
- Ruin the upward trajectory of your career by going back home & getting fired in 2-3 years

If Mario left his situation at Oregon I would seriously question if there's something wrong with his head, you'd have to be on some hardcore drugs to make that dumb of a decision.

Money ain't a issue, Oregon is going to give him an extension & pay raise, there's literally not one single legitimate reason for Cristobal to leave Oregon for Miami, not one.

He‘s a CANE..

He left Miami because he had been fired from FIU and it looked like his chances of being a HC were over. Jimmy Johnson recommended that he spend a few years working for Saban to understand how to build and sustain a program. It was by far the better career move. If he stayed with Golden, best case under Golden he recruits OL well, they win the acc coastal 1-2x and maybe by now he is working as an OC at a mid major.

I am a little surprised LCE doesn't understand that Mario looks at Miami the same way Urban looks at Notre Dame. He would have left a 12-0 Ohio State team and taken less money to be the HC of a 1 win ND team without hesitation. No one would question that.

How old are you? Serious question..

I can't tell if that is sarcasm but the story about JJ telling him to go work for Saban is true.
I mean to say that it doesn't seem to be a good career move for him to come to Miami. Considering his past behavior, as you laid out, I don't see him coming back.

Do you guys think people really care about their ties? What CEO is looking back on his life feeling sentimental about his first job at Mcdonalds? You're not blowing up your career for the place you went to school.

Yes. Buzz Williams left a good Virginia Tech team in a better conference that he built to go back and try to build at Texas A&M. Why? Because he's from Texas and went to A&M-Kingsville.

either way Mario gonna get a raise if Oregon wins the rose bowl.
d
This UM rumor is simply a bargaining chip for Coach Mario. Coach Mario will get a big raise if Oregon wins the Rose Bowl, but he will get some sort of extension regardless. Coach Mario isn’t leaving Oregon, because he has the best recruiting classes in the PAC 12. Even with Oregon's new QB next year, he doesn’t have to be as capable as Justin Herbert because Oregon is more talented across the board.

I know a lot of CEOs that care deeply about their business school ties such as Wharton and am very grateful for this fact as a Wharton alum
