Ferman is hinting that Highsmith deal is on the way

I’m not sure what your argument is? You just want to fire everyone and start over? Got it....so of all the P5 teams that switched coaches in the last two years, how many have gone and stole a successful coach from another P5 program?

Florida is one...... that’s about it

So instead of spending 10 million to “ fire everybody” and then start over... you spend that money to bring in a front office guy that can run the football team and just the football team... AH can help revamp the support staff and recruiting offices to look and run like a professional team.

Blake, is that you?

Let me try to explain this to you, if you can’t do your job completely then you should be fired. We shouldn’t have to hire someone to do your job.

It isn't made up
What’s the time table on this fin? If it happens and god I hope it does, when does it get announced and go into effect? Idk if you know the scoop on that but if you do please share.

Basketball has taken a big hit under the watch of Blake James. Coach L is great but Blake didn't hire him. Basketball is going through a rough patch.

Baseball appears to be on the road to a strong recovery under Gino's leadership. The talent level has increased & he's moved away from small ball a bit. Baseball should get back to Omaha this year. It was down for quite a few years under BJ.

Football isn't where it needs to be.

I think Mark Richt played a bigger role getting the IPF done than BJ (including CMR's $500,000 donation). The rest of the funds mostly came from a few prominent families already heavily associated with UM. Let's not crown BJ as some fundraising maven.

Make no mistake, Miami Football & Baseball should be consistently ELITE. Basketball should be highly competitive in the ACC with a trip to the Sweet 16 (or better) once or twice a decade (when the team has talented upperclassmen that stick together). Blake James is simply not getting it done & deserves a significant amount of criticism for that.

A rough patch? Miami basketball missed the NCAA Tournament last year, after losing TWO 1st round draft picks and being saddled with the inability to recruit thanks to the garbage FBI investigation. I guess you forgot that Miami had been to the previous 3 NCAA Tournaments, with a Sweet 16 mixed in there. The last time Miami had been to three consecutive NCAA Tournaments was from 98-2000. Let that settle in. Miami hadn't sniffed that level of consistency in 15 years. I know the typical Miami football "Fan" doesn't pay attention to the basketball program, but come the F on.

Miami, with a good coach should be making the NCAA Tournament somewhat regularly, with some good runs mixed in. L has delivered that, in fact he's done things that NO ONE has done at this program before. IE, multiple Sweet 16 runs, spending tons of time in the rankings, being a relevant program in the best basketball conference in the country.

Baseball should be consistently good, but as we've seen time and time again, Miami is up against it in that sport too. Thanks to scholarship restrictions and the inability of any school to consistently give out full scholarships, it's tough to compete with schools that are significantly cheaper. Miami made a lazy hire in Dimare, it appears that James may luck out and Gino may be a decent coach. Problem is that one has to worry about what happens when Dimare leaves, and BJ is still employed. You can't consistently make lazy hires and have them work out.

James deserves the most criticism for his handling of the football program, merely because he doesn't appear to have a plan for the program. He didn't have a clue on where he wanted to go when Richt retired. He didn't interview ANYONE. That's not what a solid AD does.

It really makes no sense to bring on a guy like Zo unless you want him making football decisions. This would make Manny Daiz the least powerful football coach in the country. Either Ferman made this rumor up or we are organizing our bag game for some elite recruiting.

Ferman said Gruden was a done deal. I don't believe a **** thing that guys says until after it happens, and even then, I'd double check to be sure.

Alonzo would be great, but I find it very hard to believe he would give up a cushy NFL exec job to answer to the rat ******* that pays buyouts .24 at a time.

And Manure “Novice” Diaz deserves to be the least powerful head coach in America! What has he done that warrants anything other wise? The guy single handily guided us to a 6-6 disaster with the most talented team we’ve had in 10 years against the easiest schedule in the worst division, in the worst conference in the country. Diaz should just be grateful he’s allowed to come back next year. I sure as **** would rather have AH evaluating our coaches then manure who looks like he’s not gonna fire anyone after the worst year we have ever had.

LMFAO at this stupid crap. No one learns anything in this godforsaken athletic department, and Miami "Fans" are salivating about "We're hiring a MIAMI guy". Zo is a guy I would love to have in an NFL front office, he knows NOTHING ABOUT COLLEGE FOOTBALL in the modern era. Why can't Miami just go out and get a top end AD, who has worked in the modern era? You have Danny White up at UCF, back up a Brinks truck to his house and bring him in and let him do the job. I'm sick of this Miami inbreeding nonsense. Can we find someone from outside the Miami bubble to bring in fresh ideas to this program?

Oh, I forgot, this fanbase and booster base are too enamored with the smell of their own farts to realize that COLLEGE FOOTBALL HAS CHANGED IN THE LAST 35 YEARS. Sick of this crap. Get a good AD, get out of their way, and let them do their **** job. This isn't a complicated concept, and yet the BOT can't figure it out.

Hard to argue with this but I still can't help the feeling of excitement that at least somebody within the University cares about the football program enough to try to do something, no matter how unusual, to turn it around. If there's just no way they're going to fire Blake for whatever reason and you need to go with something unusual to get this thing turned around, it can't be any worse than what we've seen the last 15 years.

Manny is an idiot, he’s bullheaded and doesn’t think he needs to change because he’s embarrassed to think that the offense he hired was so pathetic. 130 out of 130 on third down conversion percentage at Miami is something I could almost do better at. Luckily this will be Manure’s demise a year from now.

THIS

Ideally we fire Flakes ***** *** and hire a real AD. Nobody is questioning that. But, if we are stuck with the Cuck, having Zo in the building is better than Flake shaking a magic 8 ball to make decisions.

As I said, Coach L is terrific and has done many wonderful things for Miami Basketball. However, going 14-18 in the 2018/19 season (5-13 in ACC play) qualifies as a rough patch (especially combined with the challenges presented on the recruiting front by the "investigation"). That does qualify as a rough patch after a 22-10 season the prior year. By no means does that mean Coach L is a bad coach. I think he has been tremendous for Miami Basketball but the program has had to navigate choppy waters the last year or so and the record last year was simply not good.

I hope very much that Coach L can get Canes basketball back to where it was (or even better). It was a great ride & I'm a huge fan of his.
