Ferman - "I can confirm Strong wants the Miami job"

Charlie would probably take if the money was right--------say 5.5 mil+. Anyone delusional enough to think the BOT would pay that?

Funniest part of the OP is that FSU's Director of Football Ops has a very high-powered agent. That would be like Josh Darrow having a big time agent.

He recruited an elite QB to his school. Oversaw said QB's development into a 1st round draft pick and we're holding that against him? Look, get him a solid OC who runs an uptempo spread offense and let Charlie control the defense and we'll be a very, very good team that will be there beating FSU and Clemson every year fighting for the ACC.
 
Based on Strong's contract, i think a departure from Texas might be a mutual agreement. Say Texas is forced to fire him down the road, they have to pay him 100% of his salary while he has absolutely no buyout if he leaves.
 
Ferman just never knows when to quit. He sold out on credibility years ago and will make crap up or collosal leaps in logic to get people to tune in. I've never seen someone be so wrong and have people still listen to what they have to say.

I'd rather offer that money to the guy who completely owns him without access to the talent UT has--Gary Patterson.
 
German is an idiot! Same guy that threw himself on the fire by predicting Gruden to UM before Golden was hired. He is also a big supporter of Mario for head coach.

If a coach can't win at Texas, he cant win in the big time.

Guy made his bones with a dirty recruiter, a Heisman QB, and the ability to accept any old ****** into school. Without that, he's proving to be a corch.
 
Strong is a proven recruiter in Florida/SoFl. Did a helluva lot better job with supposed lesser players and built a basketball school into a football contender. Texas was **** under Mac Brown even with all those top recruiting classes. Texas as a state is overrated and lets be honest, nobody was talking about Texas winning **** since Vince took them to a title like Cam did Auburn. Charlie would kill it here. If he brought Lamar in as WR coach, the fence would be back up in SoFl!!
 
I'm not holding it against Strong that he went out and landed a stud QB. I don't know why many people use that as a negative against him. Him having a defense ranked in the 100s at Texas right now is concerning, for sure.

But you have a guy who fielded a team at Louisville many of us said looked like the old Miami, and had many of us dreaming about what he could do at UM. He's had a couple 10+ win seasons and a BCS bowl win. He's a much better candidate than the boring Miami guys we keep hearing about.

Bringing in Strong and unleashing him in SoFla to recruit and build a juggernaut defense could work out well. I also think he's tried hard to fix his offense at Texas, moving into a spread option and shaking up coaches. What he built at Louisville makes him intriguing.

Forget that up-tempo spread offense sh*t. We are not Oregon. I pray to God our offense goes back to Pro style.
Look at what Harbaugh is doing at Michigan and still scoring pts on everyone they face...just like we used to ball on everyone when our offense was Pro Set back in the day.
