DJ Williams the FB, too
No. 1 recruit in the nation as an LB. Played FB as a freshman out of team need.
DJ Williams the FB, too
Iirc he played fb to get him on field and based on need, like DJ as a frosh, but he was recruited as a lb.
That rings a bell as in could play S but likely will grow into lb, which he did. Im getting old and my memory aint so good on this one. My guess is that was more of a play what you want kind of recruited as a db rather than a real expectation he’d be a S.Wasnt Beason was recruited as a DB?
Would've been a 1st rounder if Shannon switched him over earlier. They let the man languish at WR for 3 years. He was pretty good as a freshmans but was horrible sophomore and junior year. I would've switched him over midway thru junior year at the latest...Sam Shields
Not really. He was an incredible DE in high school but Schnellenberger knew he was going to be a RB from day one. Same with ST. Everyone talked about how he could play offense but he was a safety from day 1. Winslow actually did come in as a WR.Alonzo Highsmith was recruited as a DL and ended up at RB.
Mine is of course the one and only Warren Sapp who was recruited as a TE before being moved to the defensive line....
Damien Berry
Gained 100 pounds?Best one of my memory was Charles Cook from Gainesville. Came in as a lightly recruited 185 LB safety. Then grew to a LB and then to a 285 LB DT. Played for a while in the NFL, I believe with the Patriots.
Gotta love Winstrol! Not necessarily my favorite but def needs a mention
