Wasnt Beason was recruited as a DB?
That rings a bell as in could play S but likely will grow into lb, which he did. Im getting old and my memory aint so good on this one. My guess is that was more of a play what you want kind of recruited as a db rather than a real expectation he’d be a S.

Alonzo Highsmith was recruited as a DL and ended up at RB.
Not really. He was an incredible DE in high school but Schnellenberger knew he was going to be a RB from day one. Same with ST. Everyone talked about how he could play offense but he was a safety from day 1. Winslow actually did come in as a WR.

Mine is of course the one and only Warren Sapp who was recruited as a TE before being moved to the defensive line....

Maybe not fave, but I loved Allen Bailey's story...oversized MLB, Coker was the only guy willing to let him try to stay at LB. Obviously became a dominant iDL.
