Fan support for Cristobal?

Comical to even insinuate the guy’s job is on the line. Actually terrifying anyone saying that can vote, drive, etc. Litmus test it certainly is.
Franklin just took PSU to the final 4. They lost a ton of talent. Allar choked then broke his leg. Dabo is doing much worse at Clemson but he will get the pass. Do I think for a second Mario gets fired, no. I do think in today’s game, w/l doesn’t matter. It is all about the boosters and Mario appears to have them on-board.

Now we see what UF and fsu do.

Mario more likely leaves with the most wins by a Hurricanes coach in their history, he isn't close to getting fired any time in the near future.

We just played two teams running 3/3-3/4 fronts. We better be able to pass because we will see much better fronts than UL and FSU. The book is out on Beck, those dump offs were WIDE open for 10-15yards on 3 of his INTs. The fourth much like the others, he had already decided where he was going. Beck either breaks from the tape or we drop more games…like SMU or Pitt as they are the more complete teams that can score just enough points to make it tough on our O.

I’d like to hope that we see Miami not just win but get back on track this week and carry that to SMU, Cuse, NCSt, Vt, Pitt.
Yeah he needs to take what the defense gives him but we are not as good in the pass game this year where we can have 40 or 50 yard rush and win. Last year we had z Horton George the arroto and Sam brown was okay. This year we have tony and CJ and no one else has really made a impacr

He has the worst w/l percentage since Golden.
He is 71 wins away from the record.
He is 55.
At his current rate .56 on 13 games he would retire at 66 just ahead.

J/k as his pace/rate is improving. Likely 61-63.

Check the stats and look at context of who we played for both teams. I think we see more from Lofton as he isn’t hurt assuming Beck isn’t hero balling it. Moore and Marion need to step up. The wild card is trader. Highlight Wild. Ha

We also had Martinez and Rivers two NFL players.

Franklin was there for 11 years. Mario has been here for 4. Dabo has won multiple national titles, he’s earned plenty of leash. And they’re still getting restless. Let’s be real, even discussing firing Mario is legit asylum talk. Padded walls ****. People with drool cups. Now, if they go 1-5 to end the year or some ****, we gotta have some serious conversations (he still wouldn’t actually be fired). But the dude has won 15 of his last 18 regular season games. We’ve been ranked in the top 10 more weeks in the past 2 years than we were in the last 18 years before that. Weird discussion to be even be wasting time on.

took Harbaugh 10 years at Michigan, people that haven't built anything in live always want microwave results

I honestly can’t see this team dropping 2 more games. They looked past a very well coached and talented UL team. I doubt they do that again but we shall see.

Great quote:
Humans tend to over estimate what they can do in one year and grossly underestimate what they can do in 10.

It applies to building up a football program. Mario has done well to get the direction pointed upward. We all just see the mistakes with the benefit of hindsight or not being in the fire.

Giving me whiplash over here. You cited Mario's record against ranked teams at the time the games were played. Florida State was ranked when we played them. Don't move the goalposts now to fit your narrative.

He lost a game to an underrated Louisville team and you are melting down. How about we let the season finish so we can see if we win the ACC and/or make the playoffs?

You have your stuff twisted my man and are seriously confused. Nobody is melting down over Louisville. Did you glance past me speaking over and over about Mario constantly losing as a double digit fave and fave, period? Louisville is simply another data point in that trend.

And nobody is moving a **** thing. He is 4-6 against ranked opponents since being HC at UM at the time those games were played. That is already bad. I even said it's worse when you look at where some opponents ended there seasons and still gave the 4-6. But anyone with common sense would look at where a team finishes the season. Because if FSU ends the season at 5-7, that ain't no **** ranked team.

Either way, he has a losing record against ranked opponents while at UM. But hey, keep digging to find a reason to defend.

Who knows. Long season.

Talk about 2000 all over again?
Nd, USF could both get in but drop the Miami game in season. Ouch

In all seriousness, I do agree that it would be a disappointment but what have the last 21 years been? Two back to back 10 win seasons is not bad. It only takes one season and you have to be at 10 over many to get that chance. Miami from 1980-2000 averaged 10 or less per year. We hit on a handful of elite QBs then hit on almost every position at an elite level but QB( not hating on Kenny).

I struggle with his weaknesses and see Butch.to make matters worse, Coker took his kids and won so we will never know if Butch could have. Mario needs to Take more risks in some ways and not in others. More tempo when they can leverage a weakness and if that means they keep using temp for the full drive so be it if they score 7. Don’t try to run when you can kneel, block FGs when the chance is small, don’t be so conservative when your QB has the hot had. another weakness: we have 2 Ots playing LG, we have had multiple flankers playing X, 3t playing NT. Last year DE playing 3T. That is on Mario!

Then I see Mario the hardest working man. Great recruiter, got Cam and Beck to come to Miami. He has replaced multiple coordinators when things didn’t live up to the standard for arguably much better hires. He has helped rebuild the program and got money flowing at a time that it is allowed to help on many levels. He also has us positioned well for the next conference shuffles. We are 5-1 with a pretty easy back 6.

I don’t hate the man. I just wish he would let Dawson go wide some more on O. Toney at wildcat, Lofton in the T running and catching, more jet sweeps, more counters and outside zones, more 4wr verts followed by ground in pound against the same D. More Guards recruited that hit. More X receivers that stay and play. More NTs recruited. Less penalties. More dl stems to prep our OL and take advantage of the higher likelihood of false starts on OL we face. More discipline or flop to even the playing field. More PT for the high ceiling underclass and less for the 3-5yr back up.

and dang it!!!! Make the cfp and win some bowl games.
If we did DL shifts we’d probably get called for delay of game. Oregon got IU to false start 6 times with its DL shifts and IU is very disciplined. Hopefully it will be good learning for UM. There have obviously been way too many pre-snap penalties.

Butch I believe was 9-16 while at Miami vs ranked.

Im not even a Mario hater I’m just a Mario stator. People in here defending him like he doesn’t have flaws all over the place is hilarious to me . They’ll find one game where another coach lost as a big favorite then leave off Mario has far more lol. Like it’s apples to apples , it’s more like six crates of apples to a small bag of apples.

I get aggravated at both sides of the Mario pendulum because I’m normally in the middle. But I will say the mopes do shut up when things are good but right when Mario pulls a Mario the slurpers go into full excuse mode . The same excuses they’ve been using for four years . Yes Mario has done a better job than our recent head coaches but let’s not act like he hasn’t been afforded far more financial backing than our last few coaches combined. Which is the key to the game. The financial backing has allotted him the right to keep messing up hires then just making them go away. He’s able to throw money at his mistakes.
Is Mario’s best skill convincing Miami boosters to throw more money? /half joking

Just my opinion. Where was all this dedication before Mario arrived. I’m aware there was no NIL before Mario took over but look at the lazy hires and facilities
I mean that’s essentially why Mario and the commitment came becuase we were put on blast by Kirk herbstreit. It was inevitable sucking hard for so long that eventually it points you to the root of the problem, past coaching, which is the BoT.

Which the doubled edge sword currently. You won’t get the financial buy in with any other coach but Mario.

We will see at the end of the season. How many bowl wins when we spent less? How many double digit seasons when we spent less? Still could get a bowl win and double digit season this year.
Yes we'll see. My expectation is that we lose another game, which would make the season a failure.

He's not a top 20 coach in America. He's a program builder but he cannot get past that. I thought he could get better and he has to a point but he will never be anywhere close to being a good gameday coach. He knows very little in terms of x's and o's, his teams will always be heavily penalized and he will rarely outcoach anyone.
College football is changing more and more every year, and it’s becoming similar to the NFL model. Mario even addressed this topic recently in an interview. In this model, I believe Mario would absolutely excel and be one of the best “GM’s” in college football. Let him focus on talent acquisition, keeping the money flowing, etc. and hire top notch X’s and O’s folks to run the offense/defense. Basically, he would have one job…. “Get us DUDES, that’s it.” In all seriousness, I do think Mario has a really good eye for talent.
