Fan support for Cristobal?

that's what scares me, awful game day HC, very poor in game prep and having team ready! however he brings in talent. best hope playoffs and a win.
must remain unbeaten 6-0 to have a shot at playoffs
I actually think 10-2 Miami would get in based off how **** is turning out, especially with the wins over ND and USF. Just gotta hope that 2nd loss isn’t the last thing the committee sees.

What are our choices currently with all these openings now? We're kind of stuck with him at the moment and because he has technically "improved" the team on paper he will get more time. Majority of us knew what he was when he arrived and although we hoped for improvement on his end he hasn't lived up to the expectations. He needs to hold himself as accountable as he does these coaches and players.
Yall not tired of cycling thru coaches every 4-5 years n starting over? We’ve become a program that is firmly in the Conversation for the playoffs and can actually compete with the Top programs that made us look like toddlers in the past n yall wanna start over again ? Cause we lost a game ? If we go 9-3/8-4 yall can come back n call me out but at least let this **** play out lol ..

Miss me with he deserves better. He burned through his deserves better sucking for 2 years, never kneeling, choking away a 21-0 lead and playoff birth with a generational QB and looking clueless Friday night.
Meanwhile, coaching darling Lane Kiffin lost to Florida last season as a 13.5-point favorite with a quarterback who has actually been better than Cam Ward has been in the pros by a mile.

Name me a coach outside of Kirby Smart without warts. There are none.

I’m not even that big a Mario fan. I wanted Kiffin and thought at the time that we made the wrong hire.

Been when you say he looked “clueless” in a three point game that we had a chance to win, you are just being lazy with the criticism.

NFL teams have a winning percentage of 12% when the QB throws 4 picks.

He’s a top 10 coach in America with a top 10 team. What more do you want?

If he could take a break from recruiting and grinding his teeth, he should go on a trip and take ayahuasca and realize we can run off tackle

He's not a top 10 coach in America…. And I'm somewhat of a CMC fan. But he's not that

He's not a top 20 coach in America. He's a program builder but he cannot get past that. I thought he could get better and he has to a point but he will never be anywhere close to being a good gameday coach. He knows very little in terms of x's and o's, his teams will always be heavily penalized and he will rarely outcoach anyone.

Cristobal pros:
-recruiting
-program builder/manager
-generating resources $$$

Cristobal cons:
-gameday coaching/decision making
-overall stubbornness

The pros will have Miami at 10-2 or 9-3 annually and competing for ACC Championships/playoff spots.

The cons will prevent Miami from dominating the conference and going far in the playoffs. He will get outcoached every time and we'll only advance on a talent advantage.
So true. Mario is definitely not a stupid man. He must realize his game day coaching deficiencies. I don’t understand why he has not grown as a Coach. The only description for his continued game day coaching head scratching decisions is stubbornness. Stubbornness is the death of championships.

I have my gripes with Mario as a gameday coach and have my own questions about what his true ceiling is. With that said, it's clear some of you don't remember just how bad things were before Mario. If he goes, kiss that top tier NIL program and donor backing goodbye. With what he have had to endure, being a perennial 9-11 win program with a few playoff appearances sprinkled in doesn't sound so bad lol.
I agree with your analysis. It however is very depressing as you have us at a ceiling with Mario that goes no higher. Is 10 years of 9-11 wins better than 10 years of chaos but 3-4 years of playoffs and a championship or two worth more? I would have to vote chaos as a diehard Cane fan because 1 Championship is the promised land. If Chaos can get us 1 Championship I’ll go Chaos.

It’s pride!

“**** Pride, Pride only hurts, It never helps”

Mario has done an unbelievable job of building this program back. Obviously, he couldn't have done it without the money. No one could have. We all know his strengths and weaknesses. He deserves a raise, no way I give him an extension. The man has 6 years left on his contract after this season which is ridiculous. Evaluate his job performance when realignment is happening, probably decided after next season. He would still have 5 years left then, ridiculous. Without realignment, will unnamed boosters pay a buyout or support a new coach like this? The truth is we have about 3 years to get that invite. Like any fan, his football weaknesses drive me nuts, but I also know the effort and accomplishments he has achieved, here. The drastic turn-around is huge and I want to thank him for that.
Mario is like the greasy unwashed tool monkey working on a F1 Dream car. You allow him to work on the engine but NEVER drive the car.

Mario is losing to Teams that he's been a double digit favorite to win
I agree with you that some of the losses he’s had since being here are real head scratchers and unacceptable, but I’m focusing primarily on this year. I went back and watched the game several times and there’s no denying we came out flat, Beck played terrible, etc. but I also think Louisville is a REALLY good football team. They’re extremely well coached and have some dudes on both sides of the ball. I actually think they’re underrated. That being said, I’m taking a wait and see approach on how they finish the year before I pass judgement. If they go 11-1, which they should, with that only loss being to this Louisville team, I think that’s a very good year.
