Official Fall PractiSe #9 Monday Aug 15

Smith got lots of PT also, and again have those in their PT shown to be able to catch in real games? Should we focus on the 15 minute viewing period in practice or actual game time?
-Brinson had 7 catches
-George had 7 catches
-Smith had 14 catches mostly screens
None of them played enough to show what they can or can't do. The reports of receivers struggling with catching didn't start with fall camp last week. No matter how you try to spin it. We weren't scouring through the portal for a WR for ***** and giggles.

Some of this may be repetitve but here are Gaby and Lake's observations this morning:

DL: first team lined up: Akheem Mesidor, Leonard Taylor, Darrell Jackson, Chantz Williams. Antonio Moultrie mixed in a rep at Darrell Jackson’s spot before they made it out to Williams on the edge.

Mitchell Agude backed up Mesidor over the left tackle with Jake Litchenstein lined up beside him on the inside. Allan Haye then rotated in, followed by Ahmad Moten, and then Nyjalik Kelly off the edge.

OL: First team offensive line, left to right group appearing as: John Campbell, Jalen Rivers, Jakai Clark, Justice Oluwaseun, and DJ Scaife.
Matthew McCoy, Laurence Seymore, Ousman Traore, Logan Sagapolu, and Chris Washington looked like the second group.
Was Harvey held out today?

That second team OL is scary.

Big year for the returning WRs. If they struggle with something as simple as catching a ball, they’re toast. Recruits like ****ey and Jean have to see immediate playing time here, and we have to hit a home run with this WR class. No excuses.

Really good to hear the oLine is battling against a defensive line unit that has the potential to be one of the best in college football. If we can create push against them, we’ll roll over some of these Coastal teams.

Having two relatively easy ones to open the schedule will be good for the offense in general; develop some confidence and separate the eye candy WRs from the ones who can really ball and are mentally tough.

By the looks of this thread we will have to run a lot 3 TE sets as our base.

I expect a lot of Spider 3y bananas.

This team will lose at least 4 games if our WR group continues to play below average. It won’t matter how good TVD is if our guys can’t get open or catch.
Don't forget we have solid TE and will hit the backs more as well..... There will be options

Dave Chappelle Help GIF

These receivers lately gonna have this be Gattis' new recruiting pitch on the trail

They don't even have Caleb Johnson on the roster.

Whoever is responsible for maintaining the roster on the UM site really sucks lol.
Its actually quite pathetic and disrespectful to the players and their families.

Every other school has pictures up freshman, updated numbers, measurable etc.

We eat crap every year with the online roster. Avantae Williams still doesn't have a picture up and he is entering his 3rd year smh.

Not to mention the measurables are never updated.

Oh you're right... you don't ever improve in football. What you see in fall camp is the same thing you'll see in October. Noted
It's like changing the mechanics of your swing on the golf course. You're more likely to lose your game than improve. That's what the driving range is for. It should have been done over the summer. And it's not like there weren't indications from the spring camp it wouldn't be an issue.

That's what Hankerson did. Over the summer, he worked with Mark Duper (until the NCAA came in and outlawed it because he wasn't an "official coach").
