Official Fall Camp PractiSe #7: Wednesday August 9

I think Chaney is the most talented all-purpose back on the roster. Those who write him off may be eating some crow by mid season.

I've been saying that for a minute. If 100% healthy, I'll take Chaney 10x out of 10 over Parrish. Parrish is a nice runner but he's really a RB2/RB3 in a top P5 team. He's not going to break anything longer than 20 yards, generally speaking, but he's a grind it out 5 yards a pop kind of guy.

I'll reserve judgement on Fletcher (and the NU kid) but he appears to be the real deal but I expect to see Chaney a lot more than what a RB4 would indicate. JMO

I’ve been wondering about this as well, but typically silence is usually a good thing when it comes to specialists. They saw the punters in the spring and didn’t bring anyone else in for the fall so I’m taking that as a good sign.
Your speculation is invalid.

Our Miami Hurricanes allowed Feagles to step foot on the field.

I will not believe it until I see it.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

David Lake said on a recent podcast said that he believes the issue is somewhat mental... Apparently he doesn't have much cartilage left in his knee and it is pretty much bone on bone. The discomfort is leading to him taking it slow out of fear that he is going to reinjure himself (understandable given his history). But the team's take is that is likely how it is going to be and he is going to have to get used to that feeling if he wants to play. They are willing to play him if he gets over that hurdle, but they aren't waiting on him either.
My nephew has no more cartilage in a knee after 2 ACL tears. As a basketball player the only question is how bad does he want to play and how much pain can he endure. There is no other solution.

FYI, James Andrews clinic did both surgeries. Still is what it is.

I'm just glad there weren't any injuries.

I don't need to hear the yearly fall camp lies about someone turning a corner. Just that they're staying healthy.

Matt had some interesting comments about Zion... I'm paraphrasing but was basically like "you'll have to ask him" and unsure what Zion's status is. It was weird. My two cents is Zion is cleared by the doctors but trusting his knee or something. Idk.
Checks out with what David Lake said

I don't know how anyone can say Chaney is the most talented back all purpose we have. The guy has been hurt almost his entire UM career.. I'm not doubting his ability but his durarability.

I think fans way overrate Chaney and underrate Parrish. By all accounts Chaney is healthy now and running fourth at the moment.

Did I miss a depth chart being released?

Just practice reports amigo. I know the chart isn’t out. Overrating a player doesn’t mean they aren’t any good either. Chaney has a holy aura around him when it comes to fan discussions is all I meant not that he’s better than Parrish. I just think they are closer than most make it seem. Stats speak for themselves.

I get it. He’s a cane through and through and we all hope to see him do well and make an NFL roster.

Was watching a video of the team warming up and noticed a number 66 on the OL. Anyone know who that is?

If I was on the team I would say thanks but no thanks to whoever performs those surgeries and head to Andrews sports medicine (does bama’s surgeries and a lot of other athletes/wrestlers) in Birmingham.

Right down the road in Gulf Breeze. On any given day - the athletes you might run into there - amazing. And everything is hush-hush.

My biggest concern are the outside guys. I think Ray-Ray is going to be a star, but if we're lining him up on the outside already...is that because the staff is in love with his route-running, YAC ability, and precision in his cuts? Or is it because he looks good sure, but the crop of George/Harrell/Horton (and to a lesser extent, Redding/Ladson) are struggling to consistently produce and separate from one another?

Restrepo seems to have the slot figured out. We're all expecting Colbie Young to lock down one position, heck he kind of needs to...
for George its make or break.
