And I am biased for Nickel after watching him play live and on TV the past 2 seasons. I just think he processes information so fast that the transition from high school to college won’t be too much for him.

I will contrast him with someone like Air Noland who I watched play live as well. He certainly looks the part, hence the rating, but he never seemed like the quickest decision maker on the field; in contrast to Nickel who isn’t as tall, doesn’t have as big of an arm, but just made play after play after play.
I honestly believe he’s the better QB irrespective of his class…

Not because the other options are insufficient but because he can ball…

Love might run for 180 on this defense

not gonna say it COULDN'T happen. Especially since he's insanely good with that offensive line. But logically speaking what makes you say that when you know next to nothing about the defense itself. Not just whose gonna play, but how well play in this scheme. If communication is where it needs to be he's not gonna come close to that.

Michigan has a true freshman projected to start in game 1. And we see freshmen QB’s playing all over college football.
There is no reason to think that a freshman a QB cannot be the number 2 at Miami. Especially a 2-time state champ in Georgia who processes information very rapidly.

I don’t know why UM supporters always seems so concerned about freshmen playing important roles when other schools are not. I’m not picking on you, just using your post as a catalyst for my argument.
So I guess I am “using” you in a benevolent manner ;)
I will be curious to see if Emory goes in first should Beck go out for any reason. Maybe it's a big lead...... According to Ferman & Shodell, Nickel is right there with Emory. They are big Emory fans - think he got a raw deal in the bowl game in terms of being prepared, guys he had to play with etc. They did admit that Nickel has really come on since the end of spring and is right there with him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see EMory be QB2 since mario and Dawson talked him into staying. If he goes in and has a repeat of the bowl game, we likely won't see him again....

Some notes I had on the offense today:

- RB Juice across the board; all three look strong and moved well (also worth mentioning how shifty Pringle is)

- Josh Moore continues to be a high point monster, caught a ball where it looked like he was doing a backflip

- Slot is Mali's spot to lose, just always open

- Fletcher and Lyle broke off nice runs

- CJ Daniels is moving like his 2023 version, sharp and direct cuts. Gotta keep him healthy

- All of the QB's unafraid to throw the deep ball, let their WR's be athletic

-Elija Lofton multiple back shoulder grabs

- Beck was automatic with short routes as we expected, very vocal

Love might run for 180 on this defense

A guy that’s run for 150+ (checks notes), zero times is gonna run for 180 on a team that last year let someone get 150 yards on the ground (checks notes) 0 times. All while considering the changes at Miami on the defensive side of the ball and ND rolling out a freshman QB making his first start.

I think someone’s perception doesn’t align with reality.
