LB #3 right now? Or still a tossup?

I think Bonner got the start? At least PFF says he did, I didn't notice.

Is it I have chase at like 5 . He’s better at De imo I bet money he gets moved once they expose him

Should be playing ahead of Smith. Smith is way too stiff and slow, looks like a robot when he runs.

I like the kid, the story, etc - he worked hard and through all the obstacles to get back on the field and stuck with this program throughout.

Objectively though, i always saw him as a backup. He does look robotic in his movements, lacks that LB "feel" and can get lost in space and traffic. If him and Toure are going to be the bigger/banger type ILBs, you can't have them on the field at the same time. You need to offset that with a guy with range and athleticism and make sure the defense only requires that Toure/Smith gas assignment tackle-to-tackle.

Now they're paired and apparently can't stay healthy for each other
We aren’t allowed to have nice things all at once how we’re supposed to apparently…

Bain and Mesidor were on the roster together for 3 years but only had both healthy for 1, **** shame.

Cam should have had Hetherman as DC while here… and got to play Mali.

Jaelan Phillips and GR15 should have played together too.

That defense needed a lot more than Heatherman. Not sure any DC could have made it work with what we had in the Secondary.

LB room is ok, not great. Makes sense to separate pairing of Toure & Smith. Mix & match a younger, more athletic LB with them, but don’t have them both on the field at the same time.

Of course but in total defense we were ranked 68th in 2024. In 2025, we were ranked 12th… Hearherman would have closed the gap there. A 50th ranked defense would have probably gave us a ACC title.

Reason #138281 why I like short linebackers. They always play with a serious chip on their shoulder
