Evan Hinson Decommits

My God we never learn.

I doubt we get Nauta, and let's not downplay losing Hinson. Big projectable athlete that could play either side of the ball. Type of kid we made ourselves famous with. Sucks to lose him.

Not really a big lose, IMO John Raine is a lot better than Hinson in blocking and route running, only thing Hinson had over him was he was more athletic than Raine

I hope this is not a Folden type of special where we lose a talented kid cause we're waiting on a higher kid to choose us and then get left at the altar.

He just got offered by southern cal, it's no coincidence...

I would speculate that CMR hasn't reached out to Hinson yet and he saw the same headlines of Nauta vsiting on campus. He probably felt a certain kind of way about that.

You guys act like this is the Al Golden era still, I told you there would be attrition and he would possibly one. Not a big loss, simply because we don't have the schollie numbers to be taking on any old TE at this point. We obviously aren't going to boot Michael Irvin Jr. And we have three TE's on the squad already that will be competing the next three years. We have to focus these extra schollies in spots where we will need players in the future, CB's for next year, S's for the year after, I would say LB's but it looks like the next two classes already have that covered. Point is Isaac Nauta or no Issac Nauta, this kid would still most likely be pushed out because of the influx of players competing we already have at the positions he played. Personally I think Hinson should just come to the U to play Bball instead of football anyways.

Why did mark richt get 2 years of tape for our currect commits? U expect him to like all of foldens evaluations?

He's got Talent and would have been nice addition but him not being in this class won't matter in the long run imo.

Michael Irvin Jr can hold his own and we already have some tight ends that will get snaps

did anyone see this guy play live? never saw his senior highlights. wasn't impressed with his junior highlights. know he has athletic upside and needs to learn the position more.

Really good prospect. Obviously, a little raw, but that athleticism is ++. Unless we are bringing in Nauta, I don't like this.

the guy commits and get a handful of meh comments. then the guy decommits and reaches back-to-back Heisman status.

Hinson is definitely a project in the sense that he really has to learn the game. Everything about his game is sloppy right now. From his routes, to his technique, to his catching of the ball. All bobbled and double caught. He's not a natural football player.

What he is though is an athlete. You don't see a burst like this kid has on a 6-5 frame too often. He also has really long arms and is already comfortable posting up and using his body to shield the defender.

He's the type of athlete that Butch used to take and turn into a draft pick, but he's got a long, long ways to go to be a productive football player. If given the choice I'd rather have him than not have him, but he's the type of kid you take when you have extra space and I'm not sure we have that right now. Interesting player though.

Less projects and coal shovelers. Excelent

Projects like Njoku and Walford? This guy is actually talented. I don't like this at all.

was hinson projected to be a DE or TE here? and i don't think of Njoku as a project. looked like a 5star in his highlights

I actually preferred Hinson on defense if he has that dog in him to play with toughness on the D-line. His burst and frame is what could make him a standout pass rusher.

I would love to have Hinson but this is good news that we did not drop him (if true).
