ESPN signing day coverage at the U

last year, MIami was suppose to look all pretty with MT & Coley announcing.. instead we had Golden in front of the camera sweating with some bs "we are building" crap.

I really hope we pull this year with VT and maybe someone else to give us back the recruiting kick we need.

that being said remember kids,

no recruit, no coach , no player is bigger than the program.

Actual footage from Golden's signing day press conference last year:

Let's hope this year is better.

Al looked like he was sitting on a washing machine, he was rattled bad.

If JC waits until signing day to flip then he will be one announcing for us. I was witness to a phone conversation Tuesday, that unless I'm being completely bs'd confirmed he was coming to Miami. And that he had confirmed his commitment with coach D the night before. Think JC has said all along he would wait till NSD to make a final decision though, atleast publicly.

He has said since I can remember he's announcing on NSD.

That said, please enlighten us all on this phone conversation you witnessed and who it involved.

The conversation started with "is JC coming to the U?" and "I won't tell anyone". But this was a former co-worker of mine that has personal ties to a player on our current roster. So everytime I see him I pick his brain about the team and what he had heard. I asked about JC and when I didn't believe him that JC was coming he made a call.

so you got this info from a former co-worker of yours, that has "ties" to a player on JC's team.... ?

ok

Reading comprehension is a ************ I said on "our current roster" as in Miami." And this former co-worker of mine still works in the same field but with a different company so we cross paths from time to time. There isn't a lot of players on our roster from swfla, isn't hard to put 2 and 2 together to find out who he is close with on the team. And when I say close I mean our player has a daughter with my former co-workers daughter.

Not gonna say ur lying or full of **** but I will save this for either future rep or negging.

Why is this any different? People want to see UM get embarrassed its big ratings. Man, I can remember all the hat tricks and it seemed it was Florida kids just hating on UM for whatever the reason. I hear all this South Florida kids emphasis and hating on the coaches, but if the kid don't want to go to UM then it's on them. I can recall this D. Cook getting al lot of pub on Cane sites when we all knew the odds of him coming coming here were slim to none. I'm not worried about Valentine. The door is wide open for him to stand with the U, and if he doesn't people will hate on the coaching staff. I don't get it. I believe all we can do is hope the kids that are pleding to become Canes continue to improve the team. I won't waste my time watching the ESPN special. Great exposure and there is no doubt the media caters to their majority audience--an audience that wants to see the Canes fail. I'm more worried about us getting our butt kicked soundly again by Louisville on prime time...I'm still shaking my head as I did walking out of the RAB, and the Sun Bowl, and the Peach Bowl...hasn't been the same since UVA kicked the team out of the OB.

This is great news, regardless if we get any commits or not. ESPN loves Al Golden and he can talk really well in front of tons of kids who watch this stuff. Hopefully we gain some good momentum going into that day.

Al is a great interview, and the exposure is always great for the program....but I hope we aren't exposed on National Signing Day meanwhile UF and FSU will pick up NSD commitments, that would be an EPIC fail for Golden

Who realistically would we land that are signing day kids?? TV seems to be a toss up and JC Jackson is still committed to UF so until then I'm not sure why it would be such an epic fail.

Getting the schools name and face on ESPN is great exposure. Even if we got ZERO commits that day, they still talk about all the guys we have coming in and break down the class. The exposure is still there. Granted, guys picking us live that day is much better, but it's not a fail if they don't.

not sure if I can stomach

1: Al Golden's conference about his staff pulling through the cloud, supporting the pillars, working tails off.
2: old notre lame spitting phaeg and pittsburgh phaeg talking **** about us
3: the U hat getting tossed into the ground again and again and again.

When Valentine tosses the U hat on the ground and then stomps on it, Sportscenter will have their go to bite for a week.

I figured the VT, Duke and UL games were exposure enough for Golden? Does he really need to be dissed on national TV on NSD?

Alpo still has PTSD from last year's abortion. I'm shocked he wants to repeat that mess. I remember the dude looking like he was at a funeral trying to act positive.

A fat disaster he was. Flop sweats. Bad outfit. Dull affect. Shaky voice. He looked like a beached whale with Tourrette's Syndrome. It was one of the saddest shyts I've seen on TV since the first time I saw Frosty The Snowman melt.
