ESPN ranks Top 10 QBs in College Football

They must be going solely by QBR, which in any Mensah vs Stockton debate is INCREDIBLY MISLEADING.

Here is what I posted in another thread.

This is what I don’t understand about QBR ratings and why I don’t think they always accurately reflect on QB overall effectiveness or a team’s ability to win with a specific quarterback.

************************************************************************************************

Stockton: 2025 stat line: 84.9 QBR, 2,894 passing yards, 24 TDs, five INTs, 69.7% completion rate, 10.8 yards per completion; 532 non-sack rushing yards, 10 TDs (*1)

Mensah: 2025 stat line (Duke): 76.6 QBR, 3,973 passing yards, 34 TDs, six INTs, 66.8% completion rate, 11.9 yards per completion. (*1)

RE: Stockton - “A whopping 38.6% of his passes were thrown at or behind the line of scrimmage, and only 13.7%, about 1 in 7, were 20-yarders.” (*1)

Nothing wrong with being a distributor, especially when you have a lot of talent around you, but GS’s percentage statistics and really, overall statistics, are padded by the fact that he throws so many passes behind the line of scrimmage and so few downfield.

Georgia has so much overall talent around him, though, that this type of quarterback can look good on paper, and be highly rated, but at the same time, you have someone who is not highly feared past the line of scrimmage.

I just think Georgia’s vulnerable that way and that a good team can defensively scheme well against a quarterback like this.

Now somebody look at this info and tell me that ranking GS above Mensah is the right move
