ESPN Ranks the top 21 Championship Teams of the BCS Era and the 01 Canes are not 1 or 2

I don't know why dumb ***** do what dumb ***** do.

What dumb ***** do is right up your alley though. I'd have thought that a dumb **** like you would already know that.

So you made a dumb comment without knowing her position.

Typical.

What's more is that you had to call me a **** because you aren't any better than that.

Greatest Talent Ever ....no doubt

But playing Va Tech and BC so close should have been a warning on how average clappy was as a Head coach

I can't recall anything about either game that reflected poorly on the head coach.

I can remember Dorsey's lack of arm strength being exposed in the wind at BC and settling for too many field goals at VT.

This guy! He's a football GOD!

BSPN just likes to believe we didn't exist (except when one of our players breaks somebody's rear view mirror). Consider the source.

Shannon Sharpe ripped this article saying it was the 01 Canes and it's not even close. He said VY individual performance was one for the ages, but it's no doubt in his mind the amount of pro-bowlers the 01 team put out on defense alone would've smashed VY and UT.

Let me chime in, and I'm trying to chime in as unbiased as possible.

First off, that 08 UF team shouldn't be in the top 10. To lose to an unranked team AT M'FN HOME is already a knock...but on top of that, to produce the amount of NFL bust they did should automatically remove them from contention.

The top 5 teams I've ever laid my eyes upon on both sides of the football were are in specific order:
-01 Canes
-04 Trojans
-95 Cornhuskers
-05 Longhorns
-13 Semenholes

There's like 2 more :neonu: teams that should be on that list ahead of UT and Free Shoes maybe even Nebraska.

I think whoever would rank 2008 Florida ahead of 2001 Miami needs to lay off the bong or crack pipe. I went to that 2009 Florida Oklahoma Natty title game and while The Alligators were good its laughable to even compare the 2 teams. Even my alligator friends laughed at this.

What a joke ESPN has become!

Aside from the 2001 team, The 2002 team was better than everybody else on the list.
Talent wise sure, but the 2002 team only showed up to play when it had to. They curbstomped the Gators at the swamp, but struggled against Rutgers. We went into the OSU game thinking they would be a push over. They hit us early and rattled us. The 2001 team doesn't get rattled like that.

We got fvcked by the ref and Willis got taken out by one of the dirtiest hits ever.

The 2001 team had 4 definite HOF on that team maybe 5 if Sean Taylor hadn't died. I've looked at the rosters of Texas and UF and saw none
Ain't no maybe about Sean Taylor and the HOF. If he had lived he was a first ballot dude.

Vince that game, was one of the most dominant performances I've ever seen. He played out of his mind, so far above his typical play. I don't feel like that Texas team was all that, but that night Vince most certainly was.

We are obviously first. USC would be my second. The rest, whatever.

Vince Young rightfully threw a pick to end the game in the middle of the 4th quarter and Texas trailing by 12 points. It would have been a very tame ending. I guess only USC fans remember that play more than anything else in the game, because it was so startling at the time. A backup defensive back named Ryan Ting somehow brainstormed to bat down the ball instead of making a routine interception that would have made him a hero. Some extreme USC fans were so upset with Ting after the game that he received death threats. But whenever someone tries to pretend Vince Young had a world beater game I remember that play.

USC had a young defense that was shredded by graduation and injury compared to the excellent defense of the prior season. Consequently there were countless narrow escapes during that season, like the Arizona State comeback, famous Notre Dame shove game, and even a late rally at home against Fresno State. The Trojans were paper mache all season, yet still should have put away Texas minus any number of plays going their way, like Reggie Bush' idiotic lateral that resulted in a self-inflicted turnover.

Texas was a 7-7.5 point underdog in that game. If the game had been replayed a week later, Texas still would have been underdog. That, more than anything, defines the monumental stupidity of ESPN assigning 2005 Texas #1. You don't anoint a team as best when it would have been underdog to numerous teams on the list.

The 2001 Canes would have been favored above anyone, although several of the recent Alabama teams would have been very, very close to pick-em. Those Saban teams are not flashy but anyone who undervalues them is a fool. They are exactly the type of team that has thwarted the great Canes teams in prior eras.
