ESPN article Richt could be gone if loss to UF

Love Richt. He'd kill it down here

But he can't kill it in the second most talent rich state in the country with only a triple option team to compete with in-state?

4 behind Texas and California. For some reason they hate him here in Georgia he averages about 10 wins a season. He's not a bad coach but I don't know how good he will be here. Getting a coach that's on the hot seat at another program is not a good look.

People are drooling over Richts' performance stats because they are directly comparing them to our past 10 years. He has been running the program and getting the players that we want, but he hasn't been able to get them over that hump. Despite all the division and conference titles he was won, he has never even BEEN in the title game. Not once. Over the course of his tenure he has, on several occasions, had one of the best QBs/RBs/WRs in the nation, if not the SEC, and still done nothing with them.

I could be wrong, but I don't think he has the ability to get a team to the Title game.

Besides Butch, he would be my #2 . He is light years better than what we have had down here the past 10 years. I'd take him over Strong, Herman, Fuente, and all others mentioned before simply due to his track record in the SEC. He would have us the playoff discussion year in and year out.

He would do wonders with Brad and that offense.

If Al was at Georgia they would have went 1-11 with the schedule they have. At least Richt can rank top 25 and win games that Golden would have them hanging a Benjamin on us. That being said, BBB.

Richt has plateaued at Gawgia, never can win the big game of enough of them to be SEC or Natl Champ. Time for them to try someone else. IMO, Richt too soft to turn around The U.

And he would get Sony Michel to transfer :newman:, probably unlikely but I can dream

Probably #4 in talent after FL, CA and TX....but I agree, if he can't get it done at Georgia it won't happen in Miami.

Butch Davis.....

Cali and Texas have more due to volume in the state. Per Capita Georgia destroys Cali and Texas, and they're packed into a much smaller area. It's a breeding ground for future NFL players and the bread basket of the SEC. He should have monster teams there.

Mark Richr would be a strong hire, saying otherwise is delusional. We are potentially facing some form of Chudzinski, Cristobal, or Schiano and people want to poo poo on Richt. I think he is as good if not better than Jimbo, and he's built a machine in the ACC. He's not ELITE, but he's won pretty big. He's plateaued at UGA and who knows maybe the talent edge we'd get here coupled with a way weaker conference would put him over the hump.

Richt will be out of the top 25 4 out of the last 7 years at ******* UGA and people are clamoring for him here, if he gets fired.

I thought the goal was to win NCs? My mind is blown.

In 14 years he's won 74 % of his games, 69% of his SEC games, 9 bowl games, 6 sec east titles, 2 sec titles, won 10+ games 9 times, finished in the top 25 eleven times, and the top 10 eight times (3, 6, 6, 10, 3, 10, 4, 9). All in the SEC. Imagine what he'd do in the ACC coastal recruiting out of South Florida. This at Georgia, not Alabama. UGA has 1 national title, in 1980. The 2 coaches that came before him had 2 top ten finishes in 12 years (10 and 8 in 1992 and 1997). The great Vince Dooley finished in the top 10 eight times in 25 years, and he has a freaking statue.

Hey I heard today Georgia has been favored in 24 straight games ( 9 of them they lost ) Thats huge to me HELLO

There is no doubt in my mind Richt would have us winning the Coastal and in the ACC championship every single year. He would have more talent and an easier schedule. You dont become the longest tenured coach in the SEC without being legit.

Give me Richt over all the other losers being posted on this board everyday like Cristobal,Kiffin, etc. And stop with the he doesnt win big games ****.. if he didnt win big games he wouldve been fired a looong time ago. Go back and look at the teams in the top 10 he has beaten year after year or the schedule he faces before you come here w/ that garbage.
