We need to hold onto studs like this no excuse if he leaves, I dont wanna hear the we stacked at WR ****. Also what does he mean when he says he wants to see what fsu got for him? breakin bread huh

Best way to get Ermon Lane's serious interest? Win. We kick *** in 2013, I think he comes to UM. We sh*t the bed, this kid is headed to most likely Bama. He could be staring at Amari Cooper with two rings in two years and probably gone after his third year. If he's even considering UF right now, then he's not a smart kid. They don't have any QBs that are consistent great passers and doubtful a freshman QB is going to come in a replace Driskel the next two years. FSU is always an option, but how serious not sure. FSU has always had decent WRs.

Ermon Lane can be great anywhere. He's the type that wants to win championships and I can't blame him....same way I felt about Matthew Thomas. 7-5 doesn't cut it with these guys no matter how optimistic our fan base is.

They want to play for a winning program and be in the spotlight. So let's give them a spotlight to stand in.

This is going to make the Matt Thomas saga look like a walk in the park when it is all said and done. The number of "sources" and "insiders" is going to be ridiculous.

Sounds like all those idiots running around the RCT board. Biggest bag of shtty insiders you will ever come across.

Can't put a gun to the kid's head and force him to stay home.

I have to say this kid is keeping the recruiting close to the chest, no one will really know where this kid was is leaning until we are closer to NSD, at this time last year Bryant and Collins is all cane, Griffin is all aggie, Coley hates us with no offer, things change as the season goes on, we start to when games or coaches move on or get fired, kids will be switching left and right

We are sincerely at a crossroads in our program. Guys like Ermon Lane are watching close than ever. We have to make significant progress. We have 20 returning starters, senior QB, all everything RB and a great stable of WRs plus a bunch of tanks up front. Defensively we have to play better but we play in a crappy conference where EVERYONE is re-tooling but us. There is no excuse this year. I love Al and what he has done but we MUST win this year or we will not be able to reach where a Miami Hurricanes program should be. Coastal champions and a trip to Charlotte or it's pretty much a fail. Our recruiting, our fan base and our programs short term future depends on it. It's go time

Spot on analysis!! Minimum 10 win season and trip to ACC title game. A win over UiF or F$U will have heads on a swivel!

The funniest thing is people think hes made a decision already. He has heavy interest in three schools, idgaf what any insiders say that we are out of it or its Miami/bama or bama/UF. He will make his decision on NSDD after OVs and in-home visits not any time soon. Don't lose any sleep over a picture or interviews

If we don't win the NC this year and go undefeated, then President Shalala needs to shut the program down because we'll never be good again and will never get any good players. UM has never attracted good players when we were struggling.

Yeah, it's crazy how early **** is heating up now. This time of year used to be so dormant as far as any recruiting info and especially comitts. Except for Texas who always had their class full right away.

Now it's kids comitting and de-comitting before the season even starts. I guess it's the internet and all that.

Top kids like Ermon still usually wait though. I guess that's why people are getting antsy already. IDK. People need to be patient and chill. We can't take the field for a couple more months so it's futile anyways.

You're being melodramatic to a fault.

I was preaching the same message right after Shapiro dumped load on AG. Al was contemplating leaving, for real. If he left, we were done.

However, he stayed and is on a five year rebuild plan. The recruiting tempo is increasing early this year suggesting Golden is understanding the South Florida game more and more. Guys like Lane can go elsewhere if they wish. The kids, like the 7 who committed over the last 2 days are the future of this program. Golden is not going to wait. Get on the bus or walk.

The future is bright..

This is a valid point and I apologize if my post was melodramatic. I, too, view this as a 5 year rebuild and a tricky one at that. My point is that at some point we need to see progress where it matters: the wins column. Al has progressed this program in all of the right directions IMO. I think that this year, with our talent and condition of the division, our next step is a trip to the ACC Championship game. At some point Al and his staff need to put together all of these progressive steps winning games. When that happens, guys like Lane are more likely to stay home. The future is very bright, but at what point do we only look to the future and not the present? I think our present season is going to dictate our future success. I don't believe it's a "Win or GTFO" year like I think some of you took my words to say, but I do think it's time for this program to become a consistent winner again.
