Ermon Lane having second thoughts

Do not recall our receivers doing jack yesterday either.....would still take them any day over any team though

Hahaha i think all wr are losing interest in uf. Travis rudolph did a interview on gator bait don't know what he said but uf posters are all saying bye and he is going to fsu they must not like what he said.

He basically said how he was talking to the whole UM staff and they were telling him that he's welcome back anytime. Also he loves how UM is always throwing the ball because he wants that in a school. Then he added about UF “I mean, I can’t really say my thoughts on that offense. I seen some things I liked, and I saw some things I didn’t like. I know they definitely have things they want to clean up.” So basically if you read it then you can say UM has a better chance then UF

And that was totally by design. What you saw yesterday was UM's transition into run oriented, triple option offense. They definitely don't want to pass the ball if they don't have to. Once they move Waters to FB and make Dorsett the option QB, the depth chart will be wide open at WR to get Lane in, so they can then move him to HB.

I was high on TR but getting Langham, Berrios, Dixon, and finally getting Griffin on campus would keep our wr core good for a VERY long time

Didn't Lane say his commitment to UF was a "business decision?" If he watched that dusty-*** 1950's full house backfield offense and thought, "Oh yeah, working in that will have me showing out for allll the NFL scouts," I'm not sure he's smart enough to stay eligible at UM. Obviously he's going to get early PT, which is good. But it's going to be Driskel trying to get him the ball his first year, which uh, isn't ideal. If UF is this run heavy with a relatively experienced QB, what is it going to look like in Lane's sophomore year when they are breaking in a new QB? Might as well get used to blocking and putting up 60 ypg.

One reasons why Lane is choosing UF is because it most likely wont be Driskel at QB but Will Grier. Grier is under the impression that he will be competing for the starting job. Regardless if Lane doesn't come here then it's a bad move as far as styles are concerned on his part. Hope he improves on his downfield blocking

I mean he can think that, but I really really doubt it's going to be the case.

Football coaches are for the most part gutless and will take the "safe" option whenever they're given a choice. UF's defense is legit. They alone will keep UF in **** near every game. If Driskel plays just good enough not to lose and they end up in the SECCG and a BCS bowl game, there is no way that in '14 Muschamp will bench him for a true freshman. He might even think Grier gives them a better chance to win games, but as a HC you'll get a lot more slack for losing games if it's by a Senior who is in his third year starting, than if it's by a true freshman. Basically, most coaches believe it's better to lose by the book than it is to take risks when there are safer options available.

generally agree but muschamp is taking a lot of heat about the qb position right now. weis preferred brissett and would have started him had he stayed. a lot of people close to the program feel like the situation was mishandled but gave him leeway since we won 11 games last year. but people have been fed up with the offense at that qb for going on 2 years now.

a guy on another site has said foley is giving muschamp a blank check to go hire a top notch oc and open up the offense. grier is being told he will have a chance to win the job. i don't think it's out of the picture because just on defense alone uf should win 8 games. all he needs to do is protect the ball and make a play here or there. driskel still does freshman ****, might as well play the freshman.

Frankly, if I'm an offensive recruit, I'm questioning a Florida commitment right now. I'm not sure how much is related to Driskel, but Florida *should* have enough athletes where they're not playing a slow, grind-it-out game on offense, huddling after each snap. Trend nationally is up-tempo offense and I'd be looking at other offenses if I was a top flight recruit.

don't disagree entirely, were it up to me we'd run an uptempo spread.

but at the same time when you look at who the qb is, would you open up the offense? that's a recipe for disaster. we threw 33 times yesterday with 15 of them being on 1st down. they opened up the offense and the results were disastrous. the hope is that with a different qb more of the reigns will be taken off.

Honestly. I'd rather have dixon and berrios. Lane is soft

is it fair to say that Lane = Another Lance Legget? Big, tall, fast, but soft???Just saying.

Isn't the blank check top notch OC already there? I thought that's what Peas was supposed to be.

yep! pease shows signs and i personally think the qb holds him back. driskel struggles to execute the most basic plays, hard to do much with that. but i guess pease has become the scapegoat.

Man you guys are jumping off the Ermon Lane ship mighty fast arent you! Dont let your hate for UF cloud your better judgement. The Kid is a baller. And we would welcome him back with open arms. Alot of yall sound like if he switched his commitment you would be ****ed off! You make room for guys like Lane and Brady. And some of yall already have Dixon penciled in like hes 100% coming. Lets lay off the comparisons and insults until after NSD. I do think that Lane is having second thoughts AND you know his boy Tyre Brady is in his ear too.

I was blown away by the pace of your offense against our defense. I was shocked at the amount of time UF was giving us on defense between plays. The MO of OCs against our defense is to blister us with pace and not allow us to sub. We are still not very deep on the d-line. The fact that UF allowed Miami's defense to play at a slow pace hurt y'all in my opinion. Even if they just ran a no-huddle ground and pound game I think it would have worked better.

It's joking around. Of course he'd be welcomed.
For now though, he's a soft ****** like all other gators.

/hope he flips to Miami though

Could really care less about Lane, being that Rudolph is who I've wanted all along and Rudolph has all but eliminated us unfortunately.
