Entire Athletic Department is Dysfunctional and a Disaster

Get what? I'm tired you male anatomy breath, company men saying stupid chit like this. So what is the big picture? Is it keep spending money to make the school and facilities look nice? OK, great. Then what? B/c right now, since that IPF has gone up, our recruiting has plummeted to 35th w/ only 2 offensive players committed out of the 14.

Male anatomy breath? Lmao.

Anyone who drops that line is incapable of seeing anything but the recruit that just decommitted or the game we just lost.

So tell us all, what's the big picture?

We were in the freaking stone ages just a few years ago. Our facilities, nutrition program, weight room, athletic offices and home stadium were a joke. The AD is the person most responsible for getting us to where we could even come close to competing.

It's not about a 5 loss season or a bad recruiting class though those things are important. It's about building a program that's competitive for the long haul and James has done a **** good job of that.

We'll see what happens this offseason and next. You can't just fire everyone every time something goes wrong.

It is nice to know Blake's tranny wife porsts on here.

Don’t get the criticism of the prophylactic Dewan suspension.

There are some serious NCAA violations alleged...and testified to in a court of law. Personally, I think it’s bullshlt, but when you have someone testifying under oath that he was getting paid, considering how the NCAA loves to dlck Miami, I don’t think they have any choice until the NCAA comes back with a yea or nay... that’s literally what they’re waiting for .. approval for him to play. Otherwise it’s bye bye program.

If you really want to know, start with this thread (https://www.canesinsight.com/threads/dewan-huell-not-playing-tonight.140065/)

Our school ****ed this up but we excel at this stuff.

I can save you some time...No evidence was presented of any payments or whether Dewan knew of the payment plan.

Those programs are winning. All of that at Miami currently is lipstick on a pig. Until the ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT spends on quality coaches that stuff is irrelevant. You think Clemson is successful because they have a slide? GTFO

Yes it’s the slide. Not the huge investment these programs have made into athletics for decades. Something we’d never even tried to raise funds for until recently.

It doesn’t matter if you or I think there was no evidence, it only matters what the NCAA thinks.

They can choose to interpret this any way they want. He’s suspended because of fear...tell me one good reason not to be afraid of the NCAA’s arbitrary bullshlt, or did you get amnesia that they were seriously considering giving us the death penalty, or something close, because of unprovable bullshlt and only provable small potatoes crap.

Had they not fūcked up the investigation and lost the public opinion battle...you think this year is bad? We’d be back in the fuūcking stone age as a program right now. Get some perspective...

I said it in another post. Starts with Dr. Foolio Frenk. Miami has dropped in every school ranking since he took over. New school prez has to understand the success in high profile sports means more applicants, means higher test scores, and rank goes up.

Then fire Flake James. Giving Rick a contract extension when there is zero chance a coach is going to go anywhere else is a fireable offense.

Actually, athletic success and academic success are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. The only major link between college athletics and academics is that you get more applications. That said, the quality of applicants can be hit or miss, depending on the current profile of your school. Alabama can win national titles until the end of time, but they aren't going to consistently get the kind of applicants that Miami gets, much less Stanford.

It doesn’t matter if you or I think there was no evidence, it only matter what the NCAA thinks.

I stopped here.

So as stated NO EVIDENCE was presented at trial as to whether Dewan knew of the payment plan or whether he received any payments.

If there is NO EVIDENCE, what standard of proof is met? If the DOJ was unable to get any evidence, what is the NCAA going to get? Also, how will they get this non-existent evidence? With their no subpoena power?

After you answer those questions, I suggest you look into VJ King and Lamar Peters. See how they're doing and how their schools are handling this bull****.

The only relevant investments to winning are for coaches. That also includes strength staff, nutritionists, analysts, etc

Lmao, you should annoint yourself king of the idiots who shoud never speak again about this topic.

We have been in the toilet financially and facilities wise for FORTY years. We were playing in an outdated, cavernous, **** stadium 30 miles from home, trying to sell dorms you couldn't get Section 8 housing approved on, a weight room a lot of high schools would laugh at and athletic facilites that were crap back in the 60s. A complete and total joke.

We've competely transformed all of that and you're talking about one suspended basketball player on a team that's gone to the NCAA tourney for three straight years, a recruiting class that hasn't even happened yet, one bad football season and a baseball coach who you trash despite having NO EARTHLY IDEA what he's capable.

You are exactly the kind of genius who can see forward and backwards about 90 seconds and regurges all the best catch phrases you read on here. FIre, spin, narrative, excuses, accepting mediocrity, trash, dumpster fire.

I would love to know the last time you stepped foot on campus to see what this program has done and is doing over the last few years.

Apparently your definition of a successful athletic department is raising money to have nice stuff to show off. But that's never been what UM was about. Players came here for the edginess, for the Cane "swag." Our "stuff" will never be as shiny and nice as Oregon or Clemson or Alabama. Trying to catch up with schools like that on facilities is futile.

If the administration thinks that "if you build it they will come" is going to lead to wins, they are as dumb as I thought. Case in point, football recruiting has collapsed despite the brand new facilities.

I've gone on and on about Huellnandez and how that situation epitomizes the utter incompetence of the administration over on the basketball board. Nothing to add there.

Not much to add on football other than that no UM coach has ever done less with more than Richt this year.

As for DiMare, you are right that I haven't given him a chance. If he succeeds it will not because he deserved the job. It will not be because he was the most qualified choice after an exhaustive search. He was the epitome of a lazy hire based on nepotism. Gino wouldn't have gotten as much as an interview for HC at any P5 program.

You clearly don't understand the situation and don't know what you're talking about.

Mediocrity. That is the word to describe this school, including academics and athletics. The school is fine with it in every department. As long as they can get people to pay $60,000 for the chit education they get and have .500 level sports teams, this administration is fine with it. I don’t how you change this because nobody in charge gives a crap.
