Manny Diaz made a difficult move when he became head coach at Miami, but you have to respect it.

“Diaz recognizes that accountability has to be an important characteristic of his program at Miami. If the coaches demand players to be accountable for their actions and mistakes on the field, then the coaching staff needs to be held to the same standard.
“
There has to be accountability,” Diaz said. “The University of Miami cannot rank second to last [among power five schools] in anything. You can’t turn around and say we demand this of you as a player and then if you don’t do it, there will be consequences. As coaches, we know this is the case.”
Miami’s offense finished the 2018 season ranked 104th in the country in total offense at 358 yards per game. UM ranked 65th in scoring offense at 28.8 points per game.
“…
Was I accountable for everything that happened there? Yes I was. Was I responsible for everything that happened? Of course I wasn’t. But when you have the job, that is part of it.”
Diaz wants to hire an offensive coordinator that will put Miami on the cutting edge offensively. He recognized that in order to do that, he needed to start fresh with an entire new staff on that side of the ball.
