Enos presser

This guy is the offensive version of Mark Donofrio. The optimistic fans will make excuses for him. The reality is that he is trying to force his brand of football onto a talent base that does not fit it. He wants to out execute teams instead of take advantage of teams and beat them. His ego is out of control for a guy that has 8 months of positive history coaching at Bama, not calling plays mind you, and little else on his resume.

Kind of think CIS is defining the entire offense based on our worst display of the season. Our offense actually performed better in every statistic against UF than against CMU. So if you do the offense the favor of not basing your entire viewpoint on their worst performance, you've got an offense that yes, is frustrating in the red zone and on third down, but is doing a lot of things better than we have in a long time.

Also, people crying that all our snaps come from under center need to revisit the UNC game, where we put up the most yards UNC has allowed all season, and were operating from shotgun a majority of the time. Also quick 5-10 yard passes exploiting the space UNC were giving us was on full display.

We're still learning what we have with this offense and each game will tell us more. Let's stop pretending we know exactly what this offense is 4 games into the seaosn.

extremely level headed take. Great post and I completely Agree!

Lol so we're one coach away from what exactly? What have these receivers ever proven that tells you they're one coach away from being all americans?

We haven't had a receiver who actually gets playing time in the NFL since Dorsett six years ago. Lets stop overrating them till they prove something.
There’s coaching failure all over the place - DL, WR, ST’s, the LB’s look worse, the OL is bad but Enos isn’t helping with the under center play action. I’m not saying there aren’t performance issues but it starts with coaching and they’re definitely not get performance levels commensurate with talent levels in a number of spots.

Just go ahead and say it's all coaching without the caveats. I know you're dying to. Because this post is 90% bull****.

There's evidence mounting on both sides of the argument.

On the positive, it's very early on Enos tenure, and Jarren has looked well prepared for the most part.

Of concern, the offensive output in critical phases of the game-- RZ and 3rd down-- where OCs earn their money.

VT will tell us a lot, as they always do. Foster is on his way out, but if you're unprepared and predictable he will own your *** quickly.

Enos is stubborn as ****, but we've seen staffs stay stubborn (Borch) and recruit/develop their way out of it. its hard to go off Arkansas based on the brutal division he was in , basically at a weekly talent disadvantage, and he still had some success... last week was eye opening tho

Operating in the RZ with less space to work with is always more difficult for an offense. When you've got an offense with one senior and at most three juniors on the field I'd expect them to have an even more difficult time. That's my excuse for the first 4 games, but that excuse ends now. 6 weeks into the season the players should be making strides. Let's see what happens Saturday.

I hear you, but despite all those challenges, should be that far behind a whole bunch of college football programs that we are? It's not supposed to be this difficult. We've been downright allergic to the end zone at times.

Quick passes also slow down the pass rush. We need that BAD. It also makes linebackers play more honest against the run when you attack them in the passing game. They won’t crash the run lanes as hard and give the backs more opportunity to find a crease.

Defensive coordinators are still afraid of our speed. If we make them come up because we are committed to the short game, it opens everything up.

We will get deeper routes open much more quickly because everyone has been drawn closer to the line of .scrimmage.

If defensive coordinators adjust, let them. Cross that bridge when you get there and take the extra yards and points on the journey.
TruCane..........absolutely........good points....if the D adjusts, then we adjust accordingly and a good OC will let them pay for that.....agreed.

Enos' first year with all the players. Players first year in Enos' offense. I'm probably just grasping at straws, but could it be that they're all still trying to figure out what works and what doesn't? And I don't think anyone expected the OL to struggle like it has.

We've seen flashes. And say what you will about Jarren, but 73% completion with no picks is nothing to overlook - especially from a RSFR first time starter.

Nice hyperbole to get the other blame the players first guys going.

I don’t think I’ve ever said it’s 100% coaching but it certainly starts there and it’s not bullshît, it’s supported by facts. The facts are that we have mostly had top 15-20 talent for 15 years, but have not finished our seasons accordingly. We have consistently had the most talent in the ACC Coarstal but only won the Division once in 15 years.

We’re not getting acceptable performances out of the players we have when compared to other teams in our Division with less talent. That’s corching right off the bat.

Quit white knighting. When did RVA say these WR were a coach away from being AA?

It’s been said that the WR corching is horrendous and if you look at that corch’s pedigree For corching, it’s not surprising.
@AHURT12 , you downvoted this but this isn’t something I imagined. It was said by a former player who is on the board and who has real connections to the WR group.
