Enos Not Going Anywhere

Ivins and David Lake on their pod today (pretty good pod) - said there is noway Enos is fired until after early signing period. No benefit to it. Class all seems to be sticking and no reason to rock the boat.

So it could be a "****" move. But better to make changes when all the kids are already locked in and signed. Hard enough to keep kids sticking I'm sure after this atrocious putrid 6-6 season.

Diaz is not dumb.If he replaces coaches now and struggles again next year then what,he gets fired. He fires them after next season and he buys himself a 3rd season here.

Firing Enos to save your job sounds like something that would happen after year two or three, not year one. As always, I don't care about outliers. Fans everywhere and especially here overreact and panic after one game, let alone one season. But in the real world more often than not the head coach maintains benefit of a doubt for at least 2-3 seasons, especially if he has connection to the area/university and is not a problem off the field.

This wasn't 2-10. It was 6-6. The bottom line isn't notably different than the year prior. That works in Diaz' favor and also in terms of retaining Enos. Decline from high expectation is what gets you in trouble, like Richt teasing the playoffs one season and faltering to 7-6 the following season.

The high expectations here in 2019 were mostly delusional

College coaching ain’t the real world. It’s a zero sum game that is 1000% results oriented.

You either win or you don’t. You either make changes to produce results or you don’t.

Mark Richt was forced out for under achieving.

Manny Diaz with no resume and no track record comes in and post a worst record and worst offensive numbers than what was already considered under achieving.

Our over/under to start the year was super conservative by Odds makers. If you just go by the games we were favored in over the course of the season. We were looking at a 9-10 win year.

Somehow with less talent Mack Brown is able to post a 4 win improvement and Manny can’t even post 1 more win.

And maybe it’d be different is we lost to say UVa, Florida and VaTech...but we lost 2 win ga Tech, FIU and duke....that’s not an outlier. When your production/ scheme is so bad you can’t even out athlete ppl.

Typical South Florida swindler's mentality. Then again, only Miami's BOT would be dumb enough to allow themselves to be scammed in that way.

This guy is not losing to F.i.u. nor duke, he'd be one of the smartest headcoaches we've had since jimmy, he'll definitely get **** done at UM, this kinder, gentlier approach doesnt work at UM. His weekly press conferences here would pure comedy, im sure he'd be the 1st one to ask the irritating female always asking the dumb questions, WTF is wrong with you! He'd start demanding that those guys upgrade their journalism or be quiet. The college football world and the double agents working at UM will do everything in their power not to see a UM and leach match happen. If flake james had any balls he'd hire leach and keep manny as the d-co!

He lost to an FCS team a few years ago?

This class seems to be locked in and believe they can make a difference. Every interview & podcast has said this. No one but people on this board thinks Enos is getting fired.

They actually said they think diaz might fire enos but if it does happen it will be after the bowl game.

I was saying you guess lol it’s not a big deal. Let’s just close strong on the trail. 25 solid football players that will qualify. The drama part is for girls. We’re not making the decisions. Manny will either look great or possibly lose his job as a result. As it stands, Enos isn’t leaving anytime soon. Have a wonderful night and hopefully his offense is better the next time we see the field. 🤷‍♂️
You gotta be a re-tard to hope the O will be better, cuz Enos is an offensive, re-tard

It seems more likely that Enos would be reassigned to QB's or become a co-o/c rather than get fired. Given his contract size and college football these days, you have to assume his buy out is huge. It makes financial sense to keep him around and hope his ego forces him to either quit or take a job somewhere else. Either way, at least we wouldn't be paying him to sit on his a** every Saturday.

Yep...the deep athletic Dept and their collaborators on the BOT would start planning an NCAA investigation of Leach the day he assumed the position. They will try to take him down.

Coordinators dont get long term deals like hcs. So his buyout wont be that much.
