I posted in the Culture Is Not A Buzzword thread, but on another site, a tweet was posted that Manny Navarro’s podcast stated Manny received a text from a player’s parent stating several players don’t want to beat Pitt so they don’t have to go to a bowl game.

****. These kids must be miserable lmao. If you hate playing football that much then quit or hit the portal lol. I've played under some bad coaches and coached with some bad coaches. I don't mind if you quit or leave because its not what you signed up for. However, the worse thing you can do imo is add to the f÷×kery by airing out your dirty laundry. Some people are raised different. To each their own

With the reports that we are going to see a massive turnover in the roster (24 to 30 kids) transferring out there is really no benefit to getting to the 6th win and going to a bowl game for the extra practices. We know that adjustments will be made to staff. We know that there will be a tremendous youth movement in Year 2 with players that are not on campus yet.

Mario should just focus all efforts on recruiting/transfer portal and securing a top 5 class and not trying to extend the lost season of Year 1 with players/coaches that will not be here.

With 2 bowl wins in the last 18 years.... I'll take a bowl win please.

I keep seeing people talking about trying to get to the off-season and staff changes but most coaches aren't leaving their current job untilt heir season is over so we would be waiting anyway. Win Saturday and go bowling.

Get the people who are fired / quitting far away from everyone else.

Agreed. Shocked so many don’t want a bowl game and a potential win into next year. We suck, only winning will cure the cancer that is Miami football. Only winning will have recruits interested in coming here.

There ARE kids on this team that have given everything they have. Even players like Mallory playing their last games that fans love to hate on.

Instead of focusing on why we shouldn’t play, to placate the negatives, I would want a certain group of players here to end the season on a good note. Some seniors as well.

Yeah sure to fans if it’s not a BCS bowl we don’t care right? But to some of these kids, every game is special.

So yes I want to play in a bowl game. I remember when Golden was here and the players were devastated to find out we were giving them up. Those reactions will always sit with me when it comes to this stuff.

It seems that some here get a thrill up their leg by beating a dead horse... I see what's going on this season, yet I want this team to win every Saturday.
If we lose Saturday I'm gonna be upset... not smug because I predicted the loss.

I’d argue that. Just like I’d argue there’s an incredible amount of value in players getting together every day outside of OTA’s. It’s not just about running a playbook. It’s the stuff most of these guys that have and will hit the bricks haven’t done. It’s building in all ways with your teammates and handling the challenges presented. It’s also an opportunity for some of these leaders who have begun to emerge to build on that for themselves and their squad. You never know when that moment is going to come which changes everything for a player. Maybe it’ll come at a time like this.
