Emory laying out like that reminds me of the Melvin Bratton knee injury. How it happened on the far sideline from the camera. Just the way he left it all on the field out there. Saw a kid with no quit, no fear, as a Frosh, on the road against our biggest rival. At least to me, whatever happens with his career, Williams has earned my respect.

And he can read defenses and has decent game management skills. With another offseason to hone in his passing skills, plus strength training, the kid will tough to beat out as the starter next year

He has heart to be commended, but he was absolutely rattled today which is why his throws were so inaccurate. His mechanics are very, very poor: he has a low AND slow release which is why there are always batted balls with him. He was also missing wide open receivers. That one over the middle to Restrepo with room to run near the end was egregious.

I can’t blame Emory. True freshman that wasn’t projected to really play at all comes in and plays against the two best defenses on the schedule. No consistency to build on only makes the **** harder. He battled hard, put his body on the line, and didn’t turn the ball over, also dealt with some bad drops. Yes he made some mistakes, and he isn’t gonna lead us out of the team’s pit. But I ride with Emory on this team.

I won’t pretend to be a doctor, but the “or more” seems likely, unfortunately.

Just a terrible, tragic ending for a guy who was trying to find a way to lead his team at the end of a hard fought game.
