Elway trashes Tebow

Remember specifically in my hometown where he was invited to speak at a rich dinner party.

I believe it was something along the lines of $500 or $1000 a plate. And they completely sold the spots up. Okeechobee is known as "God's Country", having some of the highest church numbers per capita in the state of Florida.

I've never been impressed with a church that spend millions on building really nice churches, wear expensive suits and expensive watches, and say things along the lines of "We pity the poor, we want to help the poor. Now according to my Rolex, my time is up. Gimme my paycheck *****."

Even when I was religious as a kid, I was never impressed with that. Filled me with contempt.

Guess speakers are never free lol..that boy Tim has my respect for that 😂

Aye.

Sounds like that Leave-It-To-Beaver-looking Elway and his wife thought she'd get him to speak for free. Clearly, she wasn't looking for a sermon.

@OriginalCanesCanesCanes Elway exposes Teblow as the fraud most of us knew him to be.

Good on Elway, Teblow has always been a charlatan & total phony.

Yeah, I just saw this thread. Some of us been saying that all along.

I mean Elway’s wife asked him to speak at a charity event, and he’s insisting on a speaking fee? That’s all you need to know right there.

If people don’t realize his fake religious piety was just a stunt, remember the GQ cover of him pretending to be Jesus on the cross with his shirt off. Yeah that’s really nice and religious isn’t it?

Providing spank material for poof crowd isn’t exactly spreading the gospel.

that makes my blood boil if he really did that, i'm gonna read this now.
I know for a fact he charged around that much as a friend of mine who is an ***. principal for a school here in town tried to get Tebow to talk to the kids there and when he inquired he said it was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out of their budget . He didn't tell me a number but I got the gist it was a ton .

The number I heard around town for the dinner was at least 50k with bonuses.

Praise The Lord; pass the buck.

Religion was created for humans to control humans. Some of the control was for societal good such as the Golden Rule which exists in some form in every religion. Some control was to stop people from doing harmful things; like dietary restrictions on eating Animals which may carry the risk of bacteria (Jews, Muslims with pork), or not eating animals which are more valuable alive as an on going food source than dead as a one time food source (Hindus with cows).
and then a lot of control was for power and wealth to those at the top of the religion. the sad thing for me in particular about christianity is that the name “Christ” is in the name of the religion and yet so few Christians live by the principles attributed to Christ; taking care of the poor, eschewing wealth, being forgiving and caring about all people.
So if Christianity doesn’t follow the principles of Christ, what is it?
FYI, I feel the same about the exploitation of the masses that occurs in every religion. Growing up with Hindu parents I saw the perversion of that religion for money, status and power by the people at the top.
