Well I don't what you mean Caneinator but if you are insinuating that believing in JC is wrong than you are the sucker. Not big into Man's religion but JC is the word of God.

Isaiah 45:7.

Tell me how great the Lord is when he condones Slavery, and it's okay to beat your slaves as long as you don't kill them. (Leviticus)

Tell me the fear you would put in your Son when you tie him up and prepare to sacrifice him because God says so. He's crying, he's begging for you not to kill him. He's wondering why that you as your loving father would even think to stab him repeatedly until he was dead. (Abraham 22)

My family is the most important thing in my life, and if some ethereal being told me to gut my kid like a fish to please Him, I'd tell him to go **** right off and go canes. If such a decision put me in the afterlife equivalent of ****, so be it.

Have your faith, believe in it, whatever. It's none of my business. Keep it out of public institutions and public office and I can live with it.

Don't come at my door at 6am.

Don't tell me premartial *** is sinful.

Don't tell me anything. Don't want to hear it. No more.

That's the old testament friend, Jesus came and took the burdens from us.

Book of I Peter, slaves must always submit to their masters.

...Guess Jesus forgot about the institution of Slavery on his way out. As I recall, he gleefully compared the relationship between a Slave and their Master to that of God and his believers.

Read The Bible cover to cover. Spent Pre-K and K in a 'Christian School'. Went to church until I was about 14, and even then, had serious questions/concerns about the scripture I was not getting a satisfactory answer, other than "Lord works in mysterious ways."

As a 34 year old man, all that means to me now is, "Ugh, I don't know. Stop asking questions."

In the interests of fairness, I will admit there is good philosophy in the Bible. But there is an awful lot of cruelty, contradictions and violence. Same with the Quran.

I don't begrudge anyone for believing what their gut tells them to believe, and in honesty, in our reality, no one can be 100% certain of such metaphysical things.

I'm simply just not one of those people. That's all. :)

Paige is tired of ******* Johnny taking Cialis only to give it to her missionary when she can go try and get Crusading Tebow to plow and blow her back out.

I can understand that, grew up in a very religious home and in church every Sunday. Was baptized and went through confirmation class and there are many questions I had as well but I understand that was a very very different time. it's more about a personal relationship and spiritual connection for me.
Things that I've been through and seen that defy all human understanding, pure divine intervention.

As as far as Tebow, I know it's common to bash him cuz he's gayturd but I've seen him move and save many people in prison and I don't believe he was paid for that.

Serious question, as the original comment and your response seemed more Protestant than Catholic. Is their a similar confirmation process/ceremony in Protestant or evangelical denominations (I know relatively little beyond Catholicism)?

Remember specifically in my hometown where he was invited to speak at a rich dinner party.

I believe it was something along the lines of $500 or $1000 a plate. And they completely sold the spots up. Okeechobee is known as "God's Country", having some of the highest church numbers per capita in the state of Florida.

I've never been impressed with a church that spend millions on building really nice churches, wear expensive suits and expensive watches, and say things along the lines of "We pity the poor, we want to help the poor. Now according to my Rolex, my time is up. Gimme my paycheck *****."

Even when I was religious as a kid, I was never impressed with that. Filled me with contempt.
I have come across many down-to-earth, genuine people for whom religion is very important in their lives. The history, community, and value structure seem to serve them well. I am very open to that and think it's good in many cases, even if it's not for me.

But I've highlighted the part that really ****es me off.

Horse face Elway is trashing Tebow? Is Elway giving away his book free of charge? I have to laugh at these hypocrites. Who cares what Elway thinks or who he is impressed with? Classless comments.

Our church Men's group asked Tony Dungy to speak some years back and he also said his fee was $50k. Needless to say he didn't speak. How many "famous" people give up their speaking fees? I'm not a Tebow fan one way or the other but this is the norm as speaking fees go and not to many are giving it away.

I grew up in the Presbyterian Church, I'm not sure how similar it is to Catholic confirmation. Obviously, they do things differently in a lot of areas but I'm sure the core of the classes and the baptism are similar. We had a small group of us as young adults, that took the class with the pastor. We were baptized individually during part of the regular worship service.
My mom wanted me to be old enough to understand and accept Jesus Christ as my savior, she doesn't believe in infant baptism, as they aren't cognizant of that acceptance. She often tells me "God doesn't have any grandchildren." Lol

The Bible is very inspirational. Eye hope two bee able to begat sons and daughters when I am over 500 years old.
