I know, I know, another thread on these guys. Sorry in advance, but I had a separate but related question.
In the article yesterday quoting Grace's lawyer, he mentioned that Jermaine is free to go wherever he wants and is immediately eligible. Graduate transfer rules aside, why would Grace / Young / AQM be immediately eligible to play if they've violated NCAA rules and not satisfied any NCAA punishments? If they do play immediately for another team, wouldn't that team be risking forfeiting those games if it was found any of those players did violate NCAA rules and not served any punishment? I think I read that Young will be sitting out this year because he transferred - so will the investigation into his wrongdoing be investigated during that year to see if he has to serve a suspension? Particularly with regard to Grace, it struck me as odd that he could be dismissed from the team at Miami due to Miami's fear of NCAA backlash, but be immediately eligible with no repercussions anywhere else. I understand we have to be conservative due to the probation but it seems crazy that he'd have no punishment if he went to any other school.
