People keep saying that taking 1 wr in the class is not smart. I don't get it. We brought in like 6 WRs this past year and If the 1 dude we bring in now is Nick... I'm happy. Back to back to back to back classes of Mali, Wingo, Nick, and Wright..... SHEEEEEEETTTTTTT

Go on 247 and look at the WR hauls that Saban brought in when they had the best unit in the country. Some years without even 1.

Yeah, isn't the reason why you see who can play right away, and who should be redshirted. And that's one way to create separation within classes (not that it means as much as it does in the transfer portal era)

But Im glad there wasn't a second transfer portal window this season, I firmly believe that we would have some guys from the WR room depart

So he's weighing playing for an elite team vs staying home and playing for emerging ones. (Both Cal and UCLA are recruiting well and will improve). This is what Mario was selling local kids just a few years ago. Would be understandable if he decided to stay home but I obviously hope he comes here

The biggest draw to Cal is JKS but in the portal era it’s probably 50/50 he is still there when Woodard gets to campus

His HS qb commit is the biggest draw. But also JKS didn’t transfer once and is on track to contend for the #1 pick in 2028. Much better chance Woodard doesn’t even play with him bc he’ll be a true FR

Dead period just entails the following:

DEAD PERIOD

A dead period is that period of time when it is not permissible to make in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations on or off the member institution’s campus or to permit official or unofficial visits by prospective student-athletes to the institution’s campus.

In other words, yeah he can; non-in-person communication isn’t restricted.

… Cal has one of better QB development histories over last 2 decades tbh. Across multiple coaches now, and all out of HS (or JuCo for Rodgers) and not exactly the highest rated…
