Efficient and On Time

That game was tough to watch and I watched after I knew we lost as I was out at an event. The offense with the exception of Toney and Daniles looked pedestrian and over matched. I’m not gonna hammer on the run game because the results speak for themselves but fletcher needs to show some wiggle and stop trying to trick everyone. Granted there wasn’t much space to make guys miss but last night his vision looked like it did freshman year.

Last night also showed what happens when we just keep trying to establish the run game in the most predictable manner possible and Beck was terrible when we had to pass. A goth year senior has to be more careful with the football.
I’m not sure I can blame any of the RB’s when all they’re doing is continually running into stacked boxes cause everyone that’s watched this offense knows where the runs are going…_it’s a 1 yd in a cloud of turf over the center and then 3 more yds of the Oline dragging you along for a couple more yds….

No motion to speak of , no play action to hold the LBers for the most part just handing it to the RB and let him run into what looks like a Times Square crowd on New Year's night hoping to see even a little sliver of daylight through the mass of people that lined up over the middle of our Oline waiting on him to get there.

This offense Sucks and succeeded last year because we were lucky enough to have Cam Ward running it.Problem is everyone saw it and thought it had to do with the guy/guys calling plays and now think that any QB you put back there will have the same results….Obviously we are finding out that it was the the guy driving the bus not the guy loading in the bus routes…

I’ve seen a lot of completely braindead takes about football over the years.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, has made it more clear that talking ball with most people is a waste of breath than the idea taking hold that our offense would be more efficient than the number 1 offense in the country a year ago that was one of the best (and most efficient) of the past two decades because we’d be more dependent on the run game.

I don’t watch the NFL much but I believe the coach from the Titans was already fired because of Cam Wards Hero Ball tactics. Shame!

There was a shockingly large contingent of Miami fans that assured me this offense would be more efficient and more “on time” (whatever that means) with Beck

Cam Ward played too much “Hero Ball” apparently chucking up passes like punts and hoping for the best ( 👀 )

Our 3rd down efficiency last year was apparently not because of our offense but because of acrobatic catches by X and the rest of the country being better on 1st and 2nd down

So now that we have a few games under our belts (mostly good and some bad) can yall that said this please break it down for me?

I didn’t really understand it the first time but now that we have actual game and data points I’d like it explained if it’s not too much trouble?

Thanks
If this post gets you a substantive response, you deserve an award or cash.

We should have wore green tops.
This is a good point! Beck did have some very nice efficient passes to the Louisville defenders. I think he may have just been confused since red and orange are so close. Good call!

You want a more efficient offense, have Malachi Toney playing wildcat qb for about 8 - 10 plays.

Football is not hard when you get a little bit creative.

If you want efficient and on time, you don’t want Carson beck. You want the guys who stole his lambo.

Only Miami fans would even dare to argue (not you OP obviously, just general comments relating to the usual same posters that are only on this site when we win and are nowhere to be found on days like today)

- an offense that loses a #1 overall pick and best QB in college football
- our leading WR in program history
- one of the best after-contact RBs in recent memory

would be more efficient.

After FOUR GAMES.

It really is hysterical to watch, our fanbase has a reputation for being unintelligent for a reason. This is yet another example.

I certainly don’t begrudge optimism or having a different opinion

I do remember some of the efficient folks getting very much on a soapbox about it though

Literally the first two lines from Lance Zierlein who's kind of smart.
🤣🤣🤣
