Early Clemson prediction

I think this is anyone's game…I actually think we are a mess mentally right now.

If I had to call it Clemson wins….But that's just a weak prediction if I had to.

I then think we have time to start over and right the ship with two wins after that as NC St. is really down right now and with pressure off we beat FSU or at least take them to the wire. Louisville will be the challenge either way after FSU, bad spot…We are better than Louisville, but Brahm is an excellent game day coach.

Clemson won’t score that much. It’ll be a few short fields (field goals) and maybe one long drive. 17pts max.

Can Miami score more than that?
the most we've scored on them in the last 4-5 matchups is 17 points? so doubtful

The game will come down to 2 things:

1) Our Run Defense vs their Run Game
2) Their WR’s vs our CB’s

We stop Will Shipley, Phil Mafah, Beaux Collins & Tyler Brown, we win.

We let them establish the run & work the Deep ball with Tyler Brown, then well... you know the rest.

Antonio Williams is likely back as well.

I know he’s not a deep threat, but just an added weapon to an offense devoid of them.

With you 100% though. If we look up in the 4th quarter and Shipley/Mafah have around 130ish yards combined, I’d bet we’re winning or within a score at worst. If they have 200, we’re likely losing. It’s really their only chance to go on sustained drives.

Don’t give them the ball once on our side of the 50 and hold their backs under 150 yards and we win. Either of those things doesn’t happen, I don’t think we can generate enough offense to light them up, save something crazy like a special teams score, defensive score etc.

I said early yesterday my prediction is 23-20 Miami and I’m sticking to that.

Trench warfare will be huge - literally and figuratively. No more than one TO and limit penalties - no 15 yarders.

Miami 27
Clemson 24

Run D has to be better than it was against UNC. We're not top 5 in the country but can't give up a 200 yard rusher or even 200 total on the ground

Would love to see less Henry Parrish. More Allen or even Johnson. I think speed and explosiveness at RB could give them some problems. Parrish just doesn't do it. If Parrish is the guy, more of that stretch run off the edge that was effective a week ago. Less IZ

Clemson frequents the red zone but doesn't capitalize. Very poor TD and scoring %. Their kicker is like 4/10 this year. Miami is notorious for never having FGs missed against them. Can we keep those stats true or do they flip the script?

I don't expect their WRs to challenge us. They're not good. If they do, we're worse on the backend than I thought and we're in trouble.
