DTs and Jackson update - Tuesday 11PM

This one hurts the nards.

I think RJ could have played himself into a 1st rounder. Norton regressed so much this year, who the **** is advising these dudes, Bard Kayak?!

We're seeing the reason why Kul was stuck in Missouri for 15 years. This guy has no idea what's going on outside of a film room or the practice field.

This theory is becoming increasing more valid.

Wouldn’t shock me if he bolts for a smaller school where there isn’t as much pressure to recruit.

Are these "some people" on the board guaranteeing $400-$750k (maybe as much as $3M) if either blows their knee?

No, but UM can. Won't be surprised if UGA took out a policy on Michel that enticed Him to stay:

"An example: Some schools have started dipping into Student Assistant Fund money – set aside as emergency money for student athletes – to fund player policy requirements either partially or completely. There are restrictions as to how much can be used from SAF pools which protects the funds for other athletes who have an unexpected crisis, while still letting top-tier schools tout the ability to fund policies as part of their recruiting materials.

It also can be used as a reason to keep kids in school for another year – if an Alabama wideout is nervous about risking his earning potential to return to school for another season, Nick Saban can always offer up a loss of value policy to alleviate any stress that player has about the following season.

dumb decision if they indeed go pro. they aint even ready for that level yet and will sell themselves like a $10 hooker. instead choose to come back, refine your skills, and get 1/2 round money

Yep. We will win big next year with better QB play, and our D line will have their ears pinned back all year. Big mistake leaving now.

Pete has said this was likely

Right, which is not the same as them actually declaring and removing any doubt. Plus Fines and DJJ bailing also were within the last few days. It may not matter, but then again it may. Guess we'll see.

Well like I said-For months Pete said they were both likely gone. We haven’t even had DT official visits at least not many I’m aware of. And if losing Fines(jag) an DJ Johnson(hurts) completely changes our recruiting strategy....we have even more problems than we all think. What would be even worse would be if we keep our normal trajectory of ****ting the bed with our weak *** January finishes. **** im worried about even landing Nesta who I though was a lock. Hard to feel confident about anything right now.

When it makes all the sense in the world to come back BOTH for the team and themselves, and yet they cant conceive that, its infuriating. I know a lot will say you don't know their situation.
No, you are ignoring one thing. Injury. A serious one, blown knee..and their football careers might be over. Zero chance of football $$, barring a miracle in FA down the road.
Even a 3rd round pick (not guaranteed, but possible for either) is somewhere around $3 mill, though only $750k guaranteed. That's even with injury in camp I believe.
You all are viewing this myopically as fans. I'd love for them to return, but I wouldn't listen to a single fool on a message board about what decision to make with my life...and I'm not in their shoes. Yes, they could make a lot more by returning, balling out and getting drafted higher. Or they could bust a knee and get Ditka. I'm not going to hold it against either for leaving just because I want them to stay.

Agreed.

Mofos forget the league minimum is around 400k. That's good money.

The 4-year minimum base salaries for players in the 2017 draft are as follows: $465,000 (Year 1), $540,000 (Year 2), $615,000 (Year 3), $690,000 (Year 4). If eventually signed to a contract, each rookie drafted will get a 4-year deal, whereas undrafted rookies are only eligible for 3-year contracts.
I see why juniors with a good shot at making a roster go pro.

Schedule isn't hard next year.

H: FSU, UNC, Duke, Pitt, FIU, SAV

A: LSU, VT, BC, GT, UVA, TOL

Looks like 10-2 shouldn't be out of the question.

That is an easy schedule.

Only games that we might be dogs in are FSU, LSU and VT.

Nine wins should actually be a given.

Norton and McIntosh didn't receive 1st or 2nd day grades. They wouldn't qualify for an insurance policy in the 1st place.

Do not listen to ny. He’s the least knowledgeable guy here. Never played a sport in his life.

considering how we played on the road this year im terrified of that schedule. better win all of the home games

How many DTs played in the rotation in 2017? Four? On passing downs, they often used only one and sometimes no defensive tackles. But for some reason, they're going to need 6 expeienced tackles next season or they'll go 4-8.
