DTs and Jackson update - Tuesday 11PM

CMR/Coach Kul didn't recruit these kids and their families to Miami so the bond probably isn't as strong.

Doesn't this give us advantage with any unsigned players out there?
Any of the other major schools as thin as us and guaranteeing early playing time? Yeah, I know bags of cash help too, but lots of these guys want to play right away.

Pete has said this was likely for months and it hasn’t seemed to mean **** to DT recruits. Why would it change now?

hard to be encouraged when SEC teams are getting first round potential D linemen to come back as seniors and star running backs and we cant get borderline prospects to stay.

Right, which is not the same as them actually declaring and removing any doubt. Plus Fines and DJJ bailing also were within the last few days. It may not matter, but then again it may. Guess we'll see.

I've never cared when a player has left early before. But these 2 clowns... SMH. When it makes all the sense in the world to come back BOTH for the team and themselves, and yet they cant conceive that, its infuriating. I know a lot will say you don't know their situation. Cool. What I do know is both would benefit greatly from another year in the long run. Big picture perspective.

the reality is due to a lack of depth for years now, most of these guys played 3 years at Miami, that s a lot of snaps, I think thats a factor, these seniors from other schools didnt start playing til their 2nd or 3rd years

Good point. Norton and RJ played sparingly as true freshmen but then played nearly every snap the last two seasons.

Well Richt, Kul, and company better get those jets fueled up and be in the ait the minute the dead period is over.
1st stop Missouri for Michael Thompson and Daniel Carson.
2nd New Jersey for Tyler Friday
Then Georgia to check on Jamarcus Chatman and on the way back home see Dennis Briggs
We have to get Thompson and Friday to OV

MAN Y'ALL CLOSE THIS THREAD THEY GONE ............. THEY GONE. WHY KEEP THIS **** OPEN SO OTHER GROWN MEN CAN COME CRY ABOUT HOW THE SKY IS FALLING......

NO ITS NOT TO PLAYERS ARE LEAVING BIG ******* DEAL WE'LL MANAGE THIS IS THE ACC NOT LIKE WE'RE PLAYING SOME OFFENSIVE JUGGERNAUTS WEEK END AND WEEK OUT THE GOAL IS TO PLAY IN THE ACC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AND WIN ALL OF THEM IF POSSIBLE BUT AT A MINIMUM PLAY IN THE ACCCG EVERY YEAR FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS.

THAT'S SUSTAINED WINNING RECRUITING WILL CONTINUE TO GET BETTER.

No, you are ignoring one thing. Injury. A serious one, blown knee..and their football careers might be over. Zero chance of football $$, barring a miracle in FA down the road.
Even a 3rd round pick (not guaranteed, but possible for either) is somewhere around $3 mill, though only $750k guaranteed. That's even with injury in camp I believe.
You all are viewing this myopically as fans. I'd love for them to return, but I wouldn't listen to a single fool on a message board about what decision to make with my life...and I'm not in their shoes. Yes, they could make a lot more by returning, balling out and getting drafted higher. Or they could bust a knee and get Ditka. I'm not going to hold it against either for leaving just because I want them to stay.

People make valid points on both sides of this.

My thing is that (99%) players that leave early often accomplished something. These 2 guys were solid/good DTs all year. Nothing special. The team improved although disappointed at the end when facing some big boys.

Just seems empty to me. I wish them success but don’t see much of it happening at the next level (especially for Norton).
