A bunch of y'all are some PMS'ing sissies. The recruiting cycle isn't even ova, Norton or RJ hasn't announced and the sky is falling. Clemson is losing 3 or 4 DL to the NFL early. Welcome to big boy football. Next man up.

You mentioned Clemson like we are recruiting on the DL like they are. We dont have the horses they do so, when we lose players like this it effects us more especially when we are already hurting for depth

This dude just compared us to Clemson lol, they can lose studs be sued they actually recruit DL studs to replace the studs going pro. Rinse repeat.

Yep. Clemson's not going to skip a beat. They'll be right back in the playoffs next year and they'll have a solid D-line.

Nesta is one of the stars at the Army game practice so far, and we are in the running for several more high quality DT's. We will end up with at least 3 high quality DT's. We have a top 5 recruiting class rated ahead of Clemson. No need for all the OMG drama.

What a ******* mess. How did these guys **** this up this bad?

They should have brought in 2-3 DTs last year. Now theyll be scrambling for a JUCO or frad transfer.

Didn't mention where you live, said he will play 3 seasons in nfl min, at your rate, he takes home $900k in 3 seasons.
He can finish school anytime if things don't work out, you act like he isn't smart and doesn't have other options if it doesn't work out.

you want him back for your personal gain, as do I, but he needs to do what he thinks is best for him

If they come back and end up in the 2nd/3rd round instead of 4/5/6th/UDFA they increase their earnings potential by 5x.

The whole 2nd contract stuff is garbage. The average NFL career is 3.3 years so more than half of players NEVER make it to their 2nd contract.

"Things really drop in the second round, where the average contract was worth about $5.1 million over four years ($1.3 million per year), according to Spotrac.com, but with only half of that guaranteed. The value of third-round contracts drops to $3.3 million, but takes an even bigger hit in guaranteed value, with the average contract worth just $756,000 in guaranteed money.

Once a player falls past the third round, most draft picks will sign a 4-year deal in the $2.4-2.9 million range. The only major difference late in the draft is the signing bonus, ranging from $400,000-600,000 in the fourth round to slightly more than $60,000 in the seventh round."

You're not going to get some people to understand that. Let's face it, there's a large group of people out there that think $500k is enough to live off for the rest of their lives. Never mind the family members that they'll be taking care of too. The tax man is a m-f'er and if you're out of the league at 24 with no other real options, you're going to burn through that couple hundred grand quickly.

Unpack those bags, Big Hoss Fines!!!

Honestly that's one of the first things I thought of. Either he's really bad or Kool is not having the impact we thought he would. All I kept seeing and hearing was how Kool took undervalued kids and made them into studs.
Seems we always have a disproportionate amount of guys that look for the first opportunity to leave. I'm sure there are some kids out there that would love the opportunity to play at Miami.

I heard Pete say R.J. got decent grades (2nd to 3rd-4th round). How did Norton grade out (can't imagine it was above 4)?

Draft advisory board only gives three possible grades. 1st round, 2nd round or 3rd-undrafted. Both RJ and Norton got 3rd-undrafted grades.

We don't have a Top 5 class. Who are all these "high quality" DT's that we are in the running for? Clemson has the #1 DL at his postion, 2 other 4 start DL and whatever that signed last year

Negligence.

F everyone who whined about some of us being unhappy with the recruiting effort we've been seeing at DT.

That may be true, but to paraphrase what Joe Z said on the post game OB, Miami is always getting "younger" and it's difficult to win like that.
I understand leaving early to go in the first two or even three rounds, but after that, it's an odd decision to say the least.

ask channing crowder about draft grades and leaving early

For every 1 guy that actually pans out, there are 100 that don't even make it. There are 256 guys that get drafted. You think all of them even make it into their first NFL season? They don't.

Also, LB isn't DT.

He used Crowder as someone who was fooled by the draft grade. Crowder expected to go much higher than he did based on Mel Kiper and others, which of course was silly on his part

We will be fine, ****.. you guys are scary as ****. Every time something comes up it’s a fest. Fire everyone, we suck, Clemson this, Bama that.... **** you MFRS need to chill. Canes going to be better next year and we came a very long way in a short period of time this year.
If these kids want to go to work for their money isn’t that what they are supposed to do. This isn’t Al Golden or Randy Shannon coaching, Richts been doing this awhile. Put your big boy pants on and get over it.
At least you are not a Bengals fan and they give your coach 2 more yrs after going 0-7 in playoffs

Awful awful stuff..

This year it was Manny Diaz complaining about how little DB depth we had, and it restricting the type of defense he wanted to play

Next year its gunna be DL depth.. The **** story just goes on and on
