Because actual results aren't the only way to predict future production…And Brewu is a decent player, he is a dominant player by any means

38 tackles in 11 games at DT. Blay led our DTs with 27 in 12 games.

Carter isn't in the same stratosphere as Brewu right now. What are you arguing? Oh, a hypothetical.

Look Blount is better than Brewu. We have our top 3 in the DT rotation. Carter and Stancil will compete for DT 4. Blount will probably play both, and maybe a bit undersized to be a pure DT, but is Brewu even bigger or more athletic? Doubt it

THE critical add is SDE. That’s what it is.
Im a big fan of signee Frederic Sainteus. IMO he stays here like Moten he'll be a beast

Well, considering we have a DT coach who has immediately made a difference and developed every kid he inherited I am giving him benefit of the doubt to churn out a contributor or two outside of those top 3.
That guy wants mid players who haven’t produced at a high level instead. Give him a team full of CJ Clark’s and he will soak his panties.

Got you. So outside of the top 3 you have a combined 1 tackle and 50 career snaps from 1 guy. You're right.

Top 3 is very good. Beyond, it's all unknown with no experience.
It’s 2026 - not 1996. It’s the way of the world in today’s NIL/portal era. There’s no more stash and wait until proven ready except for OL.

And there’s a dude named Malachi Toney who was about as ‘unknown with no experience’ as it gets and we all see how that turned out.

Again, missing the point. Brewu is proven. He would have given us 4 proven DTs next year.

With Carter it's all hope right now. That is also a fact.
He’s proven to be very mid at best. That won’t really help us.
