Patriots just let him go, looks like he may be out of the league in a year or two if things don't change.

Not released, just didn't have his 2019 option picked up. He's still on the team for the upcoming 2018 season. First round draft picks have a 4 year contract with a team option for a 5th year that escalates the salary. The team has to decide after the player's third season if they will pick up the 5th year or not

Not true, they didn’t pick up his option in 2019 which means he will be a unrestricted free agent after this season. Dante Fowler who had a great season last year didn’t get his 2019 option picked up either

He needs to get out of New England now. They are killing his career. Absolutly refuse to give him the Rock even though the rare times they threw it to him he looked good.
 
Come to Dallas. We need a field stretcher. Not that Prescott can hit you but a nice decoy would be sweet.

Or many he isn't good? The Patriots typically take guys like Dorsett and make them into pro bowlers. Anyone should of known that Dorsett was not a top tier NFL talent. Stop trying to make it seem like he was this unbelievable talent. He wasn't. He was fast and small that's it. There are plenty of fast and small WRs that enter the NFL draft. IDK how he went in the first 3 rounds let alone the first round.

If he can't get it done with the Patriots, who maximizes talent better than any team in the NFL, he won't do much elsewhere. He was such a reach where they picked him by the Colts it wasn't even funny. Good for him though, he's made some good money and there's no shame even if his career is a short one.

I don't think he's a great fit for what they like to do. And he's still on the team...for now.
