Donna a Micromanager. DiMare & Miller to Decide Our Fate

Why does everyone take it as we reached out offering him the job? I think they are just reaching out to possibilities to see who wants to put their name in the hat. Shula doesnt excite many of us but im sure both BoT have some sort of relationship with the shula's and wanted to see if he'd be a possibility

I think it obvious we gave the BOT and AD a bad name before it was deserved. There was five successful hires until Shalala but then three bad hire. She was the problem.

If Mike Shula is the first person they reached out to, they deserve every bit of criticism thrown their way and some.

Exactly. If that Stoola rumor is true, then the only way we make a good hire is by pure luck. The right guy will have to fall into our lap, and we'll have to not fck that up when he does.

If they contacted Stoola about the job, then it shows an absolute lack of knowledge of football and what we need. Then, when you toss in the Mario ****, this is looking like another gigantic post-term abortion.

This is why we need Butch. He is the safest option.
I don't buy that theory at all. He's a better option than the dregs being mentioned by the bloggers, but that doesn't necessarily make him the best option. We have no idea who all of the REAL options are because we don't know who has expressed interest.

That was probably all about respect. I don't believe that wanted to really hire him.

Reaching out to proven losers is a stupid approach regardless of their relationship with his dad. It's a recipe for disaster if that's how you're conducting your search.

If it doesn't come from those 3 or a small group of others, don't believe it. So what if they reached out to Mike Shula. My guess is someone they trust (A Football guy) said talk to Shula. Shula is on the verge of being an NFL HC and we all now how well Bama went. That set him back 10 years. Bama made the mistake in hiring a young guy who was not ready. Most of of the people here don't understand much, so it's understandable that they don't understand that coaches can improve with experience. Having said that, it's not likely Shula was ever on the A list for this job.

Mike Shula and Cristobal even being mentioned in this process is a cause for concern, let alone being strong candidates.

We are going to **** this up, aren't we?

I didn't say the best option. I said the safest option, which means no Albortion or Shannon level of incompetence. Butch would have us winning 9-11 games per year with the potential to win titles if he selects the right staff. If rather get Butch than risk another loser hire.

I don't have any confidence that they will select the best coach.

The fact that they reached out to him terrifies me.

They are going to get this wrong AGAIN!

I don't believe the Shula stuff either. To actually reach out to him? It's mind boggling-ly stupid so I just don't believe it's true.

Why is he owed respect?

I really don't see the big deal with Shula. Carolina Offense is average at best. Cam Newton has almost identical numbers to Kapernick.

In any case they better not f this up man. Either go all out for Herman or Butch. That's my top and only two. We're sure Butch wants it so I don't see any reason to look any further than that. The U name needs to be restored first and foremost. So hacks like Finebaum can stop talking cr@p on national TV.

This can't be the structure at big time programs, right? I understand everyone's got their heavy hitters when it comes to boosters and contributors, but ultimately the hiring decisions are left to an athletic director who is qualified to handle these decisions, no?

Is it abnormal to have two BOT members playing a crucial role in the search and decision making process?

Means Blake is not well respected

On top of that, they list Miller as one of the guys involved, and Devante Money just told us the other day that Miller isn't even a football fan.

I know the Dimare family though I haven 't had contact for twenty plus years. Paul knows athletics. All of his sons were good athletes so I assume he was also. He's a hard nose no nonsense businessman who knows the territory. I can think of no one I would rather be involved in this process then Paul.

Donna resided over the complete decline of the program. She started as President of the University in June, 2001. Her reign coincides directly with our 10+ years of irrelevance. Of course it took 3 or 4 years for her ineptness to really start to rub off on the football program, but once it started... It was all downhill. The 2 Head coaches hired by Donna were 2 of the worst hires in college football and she directly participated in both hires. Her 14 years here were a disaster for the football program and set us back tremendously while the SEC rose to prominence and our rivals prospered (Both UF and FSU won a championship while she was President here).

Now that she is gone, we can all hope for better days ahead. The only way for the program to go is up.

Really? The guy is the hottest NFL OC name out there.

I'm all for it if he brings Cam Newton with him.
