Question:
Wasn't he originally thought of as a future left tackle?
Does he stay at guard next year or move to one of the tackle spots?
From his point of view, left tackle is where the money's at...Guards usually aren't drafted high...

Next yr:

Lt: St Louis
LG: Guathier or Gaynor
C: Gauthier or Gaynor ....Id probably rather keep Gauthier at Center.
RG: Open Competition. Wouldn't be surprised to see Scaife win it. Mahoney sucked whenever he was in so hopefully not him.
RT: Donaldson

He needs to lose about 30 pounds. Too often he is one step late on pulls and getting to the second level. He's often top heavy and loses balance because of it.

Please note I'm not trying to attack him, he's a great prospect, he just has some things to work on first. He also doesn't really have the length of a LT. I'd leave him at RG and let him be an All-American there, but he'd also be very good as a RT if he gains some strength and flexibility.

I think his next move might be RT, St Louis might be move to LT. Next season. Donaldson will have to lose weight to play Tackle i think.

Keep him inside. Guards are going to start getting paid crazy money now that people are realizing how important dominant OL's are. The more people invest in DL, the more important OL becomes.

That's the OL I'm thinking for next year. If Donaldson wants to play LT, he's going to need to lose a bit of weight and get quicker.

I wouldn’t mind seeing him get some snaps at RT in the spring. I guess it depends on the development of hillery and brown. I’m sure Searles is going to use the spring for a lot of OL shuffling

To date, he's mainly shown amazing Guard skills.
He can still probably be a RT when needed there, but it's all a projection so far. If he gets to LT, that means amazing things about what he developed body-wise.

Here was my comment from one of the January threads on the subject:

Lots of people continuously saying Donaldson is a plug and play guy at Tackle. I haven't yet seen a ton, but from what I have, don't see it yet. More likely as a RT or RG to start his career.

The plan is for donaldson to move to tackle but he has to get down to the weight that the coaches want.
