I know you jest, but how about JJ doing Friday fish-fry for the team. Schells is old but AD? Maybe he can finally get the stadium for us he wanted so badly.

Hmm, that is odd. For those who follow Moffit, you know how attached he and his wife are to LSU. Saban threw the checkbook at him twice (for Bama and the Dolphins), and supposedly Texas made a $$$ run at him too.

I remember when he left reading in articles that it wasn't just the money. His wife is from Louisiana or something like that. He loved it here but there was something pulling him to take the LSU job.

He was least effusive in praise of Mario- even after effing Joe Rose gave the Cristobal sales pitch. That's not to say he trashed him but he lumped him in with all the other names that we're hearing and mentioned that each has positives. He definitely is a Butch guy by far but also went out of his way to praise Chud and tell a Pagano story. Ol Soldy also sounds like he wants a job. Kept saying how young he feels and was name dropping all the high school coaches he still talks to regularly.

His wife is from LA, he coached high school in LA for 7 years, and his mentor, the great Gayle Hatch, is based in Baton Rouge. He will never, ever leave unless some new coach comes in and is dumb enough to fire him.

No surprise. Almost ever guy they ask about the job has some additional motives.

And I'm also not shocked the hear an old guy down play his age, while touting their years of experience.

I listened to the show. Soldy is certainly in Butch's corner. What he DIDN'T say about Cristobal was enough for me. Did give him credit as a recruiter.
 
It was definitely nice to hear Soldinger's take on the matter. He clearly thinks it should be Butch. I agree.

Soldinger tells it like it is and was a really solid coach at Miami...

He must be around 70 now, but he still sounds energetic...I definitely wouldn't mind having him stop by or offer input from time to time if Butch becomes the HC....

Fat head Joe is still smarting from Butch lying to him about leaving. These media people, even ex-jocks, get all ****y when they are not "privileged" with special inside info. I remember the press turning on Lying Bill when they found out the dna on Monica's dress matched Bill's. They got made because they though Bill had made a deal with them to behave while President if they gave him slack over all his previous "issues". They stayed "against" him until the House impeached him. Then he had suffered enough (his legacy tainted) and they went back to being his lap dogs. If Butch give Joe the scoop when he is hired, all will be forgiven.

Young guys always talk "fresh, new, creative, high energy ......" Old guys are been there, done that, experienced, feel great ....... I remember being young and wondering what the heck was wrong with the old farts. Now I am an old fart and wonder what use young punks are. Funny thing is, I knew everything then and now, yet still am amazed every time something my dad told me turns out to be right. Life is just a *****.
 
Joe was pulling Golden's pud the entire time Golden was here.

Joe, in my mind, has zero credibility.

It's so blatantly obvious now why these former coaches and high school coaches have certain choices. They all want jobs. They wanna get paid.

Most important is how crucial Solly views this time that could be spent recruiting, evaluating and "reaching out" to form a staff.

Whoever the next coach is, starting out with a pieced together bomb of a class due to a 1 month recruiting period is not an ideal starting point.....though I do get that a great one can turn it around quick.

The good news is that we have an incredibly patient and understanding fanbase. 😁
