The only way 2 acc teams are in is if we go undefeated regular season and lose to an 11-1 wake in the acc champ game. At that point I think we would get in as would the acc champ
TAMU and UF? What are you smoking? Are you insane? After the sure bets of Georgia, Bama, and Texas, the committee needs room for Kentucky, Missouri, TAMU, LSU, and maybe even UF. ND obviously gets an automatic bid, as per contract. Then the Big10 gets two. We'll be lucky to get in ourselves.
The real question is do we get in with 2 losses if we lose to ND and Wake in the ACC championship
Agreed. And that would require a one possession loss to ND and getting screwed in the ACC championship by a blatant bad call by the Tobacco Road MafiaA 2 loss non conference champion will not make it unless it’s Miami. Thats the only way the ACC gets 2.
Edit: and that might be pushing it.
The other real question is if we lose a close game to ND to we stay at 3 like Bama stayed at 6 losing a close game to UGA???The real question is do we get in with 2 losses if we lose to ND and Wake in the ACC championship
All of those teams should make the playoffs. Doesn’t matter how many losses they have. They’re basically a division of the NFL.You guys are goofy - for one, Wake is not only going to lose two games. Secondly, a lot of the other teams being mentioned - UK, UF, Mizzou, OU, etc. - will lose three or four games and barely be ranked by the end (if at all), much less make the playoffs.
Unless Miami runs the table and somehow were to lose in the ACC Chip. Miami wouldn’t be penalized ( dropped from CFP).No chance. ACC is a 1 team bid
Nope, not with schedule. But I’d hate to be all other teams if Miami doesn’t pull out the W in South BendI just vomited at the thought of this
FIFY - polls are a relic of a bygone age, which should be done away with. Results/seedlings should be settled on the field. Conference championship games should be eliminated in favor of play-in games for automatic bids. At-large bids and seeding should be determined by efficiency metrics, head-to-head, records vs. common opponents, etc..
Polls are dumb.
