Does Wake get in at 11-2?

They'll be in the mix. Ton of variables in/out.

Wake is a good team. But the ACC schedule is sneaky. We've been there. Its not even Halloween yet. Spooky szn...

On the road...1030pm EST against Cal will be a rock fight.

Beware the 2w lull in October...UVA comes to town right after.

On the road v SMU, Georgia Tech and then Manny Diaz hiding right around the corner after Turkey Day?

Wakes got some work to do.

Everyone is getting ****ed by the SEC bias.

Even their chief colluders in the PCSA, the B1G.

Are you insane? After the sure bets of Georgia, Bama, and Texas, the committee needs room for Kentucky, Missouri, TAMU, LSU, and maybe even UF. ND obviously gets an automatic bid, as per contract. Then the Big10 gets two. We'll be lucky to get in ourselves.
TAMU and UF? What are you smoking?

Alabama demolishes Miss St, Miss St. drops 1 spot. Now Alabama loses to UGA, Alabama stays in the same spot. They're just rigging it to get whatever SEC teams they want in at large at the end of the year. This new BS where even losses don't count against a team they like because they say so should be the death of the AP poll.

A 2 loss non conference champion will not make it unless it’s Miami. Thats the only way the ACC gets 2.

Edit: and that might be pushing it.
Agreed. And that would require a one possession loss to ND and getting screwed in the ACC championship by a blatant bad call by the Tobacco Road Mafia

The real question is do we get in with 2 losses if we lose to ND and Wake in the ACC championship
The other real question is if we lose a close game to ND to we stay at 3 like Bama stayed at 6 losing a close game to UGA???

Of course not, they’ll drop us behind IU, OSU and Bama off the bat and probably 3 more schools

You guys are goofy - for one, Wake is not only going to lose two games. Secondly, a lot of the other teams being mentioned - UK, UF, Mizzou, OU, etc. - will lose three or four games and barely be ranked by the end (if at all), much less make the playoffs.
All of those teams should make the playoffs. Doesn’t matter how many losses they have. They’re basically a division of the NFL.

I mentioned in another thread that I think there will be multiple SEC teams with 3 losses. At least one will get their third loss in the SEC championship game and another team will also have 3 losses and not make their championship game.

Polls are dumb before October. It poisons the well.

No chance. ACC is a 1 team bid
Unless Miami runs the table and somehow were to lose in the ACC Chip. Miami wouldn’t be penalized ( dropped from CFP).
In that example committee would be forced to make sure to have Miami no worse than 9
Example:
9. MIAMI
10. 2 or 3 loss SEC (Texas)
11. Wake
12. ND

Group of 12 team then replaces a 10 seeded 2 or 3 loss SEC team.

SEC would have a stroke in that scenario.

If we’re undefeated and #1, they definitely deserve to be. But you know they’re gonna put a 9-3 Texas and/or Ole Miss because of all those fake *** “quality losses”

.

Polls are dumb.
FIFY - polls are a relic of a bygone age, which should be done away with. Results/seedlings should be settled on the field. Conference championship games should be eliminated in favor of play-in games for automatic bids. At-large bids and seeding should be determined by efficiency metrics, head-to-head, records vs. common opponents, etc.
