Does UNC beat Miami without TEZ Walker..

I agree the GT loss week before will be the one that "stings" the most this season more than likely. I just wonder though as TEZ completely changes who UNC is. They don't have a WR with his size and speed on the roster. Their was a reason they did what they did to get him eligible. Mack knew with him they may win ACC, and maybe get to a playoff before Maye is off to NFL.

Without him they are more likely a 10-2 Orange Bowl type team.

Losing at UNC with or without him isn't a BAD loss, just wondering what the board temperature is on my made up scenario.

lol the denial for him always a joke. he deserved to play bc one of his transfers had their season cancelled w covid. the FSU one was a fair denial. the uNC one wasnt and they were fighting that far before the miami game.

UNC had a record day in penalties which helped extend drives or eliminate plays for them (it was the best treatment weve received in a long time). kneel the ******* ball and you dont have to go with GT cheated. they didnt cheat. they literally did what anyone would do in that spot. you run the ball and everyone is gonna try to rip the ball out. this is why you dont run a play. you kneel down and you go home 5-0.

So you’re suggesting that in connection with SEVERAL eligibility waiver requests made on TW’s behalf (all of which were denied) no-one had ever put forth that a COVID yr was one of the factors that should be considered? That just isn’t plausible with all the experienced & intelligent people (including members of UNC’s athletic dept) that would have absolutely scoured each of his waiver requests to make sure every last detail was correct.

Btw, I agree with you that we got fair treatment from the refs during the UNC game (and it did feel like they were trying to “make up” a little for the prior week’s egregious error which was surprising). It’s possible that whatever Rad & Mario said to the ACC after the GT game had an effect. You’d also have to agree that over the yrs, Miami has gotten the short end of the stick in the ACC when it comes to rulings by ACC officials. Exhibit A was the Chaney “fumble” against GT. In the ACC BB tournament last yr, Duke’s center absolutely trucked one of our players (an obvious call) and yet no foul was called. There are countless other examples but I don’t have time to list them. This has been going on for yrs. In summary, the UNC game was an aberration (albeit a well-received one) and we only got a lot of those calls because of the prior week’s events (and Miami’s response to them).

Yes, clearly the right decision at the end of the GT game was to kneel. That “fumble” would never have happened if we had kneeled. However, the GT player’s stripping motion was delayed, was not a continuous motion (it stopped & then started again) & started after Chaney’s elbow was down. Call that what you want but that GT player knows it wasn’t a fumble…and nevertheless he appealed for a fumble.

The center of power in the ACC is unequivocally in North Carolina as the HQ is in NC and Duke & UNC were founding members of the ACC about 70 yrs ago (1953). We joined in 2004 (about 50 yrs later).

you wrote a novel for tears

People seem not to grasp that if we accepted that and it was 2nd and 30, and they ran the same ******* play it’s either still a TD or a 3rd and less than 10 at the worst.

3rd and 20 is almost always better than 2nd and 30.

Like think about it if on 2nd and 30, they only picked up a short 10 yarder would you be happy? Yes. Lol.
This is incorrect. When your opponent is in FG territory/on the verge of it you always back them up. More coaches than not even take a penalty and replay 3rd down 10 yards back in that situation.

You have no idea what play they would’ve ran or if it would’ve worked bc Gudiry’s call would’ve been different.

?What do you think?

I'm not so sure they do. Just think the NCAA's decision and timing is a little sus

I know it doesn't matter, I just wonder what your opinion is?
Depends on your answer to this question: Is Mario still the head coach in this alternate universe?

Mack Brown has had a bug up his butt about us since that Cotton Bowl....I bet he paid off someone for that Tez Walker reversal himself.

Dont take a top wr to beat jaden davis deep so idk, and then the other two were more like coverage busts so who knows probably do
Leaving him 1 v. 1 agaIndy one of the fastest dudes in the country was the mistake. 1st round dudes would have a hard time covering that speed let alone Jaden.

The game is also a one score game if TVD didnt stare down a LBer they way I would stare down Angela White…
One score game if our RB doesn’t fumble at half yard line. Prob score on the drive where Matt Lee snapped it 3 yards away from QB too

Mental mistakes every level, every position. Face it, we’re a poorly coached team.

Or Matt Lee just made mistake while TVD is who he is.

Why do you guys like blaming mistakes on coaches? Are they the ones playing? Do you really think one of the best OL coaches in the country is teaching dudes to snap the ball 3 feet to the left? Do you really think Dawson is teaching him to undress a LBer? In previous years this team obviously has been horribly coached but ****, just admit a spade is a spade sometimes.

Yes but they also win if they hold onto the ball crossing the goal line along with any of the following:

1 - Don't give up a TD on 3rd and 20
2- Don't give up a TD on 3rd and 18
3 - Jaden Davis doesn't jump for the TD to Walker and just runs underneath it
4 - JW doesn't deflect the 3rd down pass going to be intercepted easily by Daryl Porter and likely results in a TD - almost walks into the end zone (JW also could have easily intercepted it himself if he wanted to)
5 - Don't botch a snap
6 - Jaden Davis doesn't fall for the double move on the sideline in a scramble drill

The issue with this team seems to be that while those 6 exact things don't happen every game, even if you remove 3 of those, you can insert 3 other types of boneheaded mistakes/blunders. That's the problem.

Anyone blaming the players is hilarious. INTs happen. Maye did the same thing first drive, and JW played elite defense on his own player.

Our coach running on the field on 4th down?
12 guys on the field after a timeout?
Not taking a knee?

Our team is poorly coached and that’s the truth, anyone not admitting that is a clown.

The boss takes the slack when **** hits the fan at any job. But it doesn't mean objectively we all know that there is an employee that maybe shouldn't have been hired or at least that an employee made a dumb mistake that the boss only has so much control of.

But what about when that boss has hired the wrong people multiple times? AND/OR doesn’t have his employees in position to succeed? What usually happens to that boss?

Bruh you really trying to justify that pick by saying “Well Drake did the same thing”?

Holy ****…some of you have business watching football and it’s becoming more evident than ever.

I thought y’all would‘ve learned after D’Eriq King but apparently not.

Yes that’s the justification, mistakes happen. He made a bad pass. Didn’t matter if he threw 0 ints or 3.

We weren’t winning that game bc the team is undisciplined, unprepared & coached poorly. UNC had like 150 yards in penalties and mopped us, be thankful for that… if it wasn’t for UNCs penalties we lose by 24+. Now continue to talk about a poor pass while you take a lap
