Does Ed O have an official role?

Natural replacement for DL or LB Coach if needed. The relationship is already there.

Is that completely away from football or just an on-field position?
He doesn't have to "take a year off" and work in a broadcast booth, he is free to work (for free) as an analyst if he wants to.

While there is very little that surprises me, it would be very surprising if Orgeron ever works as an analyst AT UM.

I am glad to see that Ed O and Warren Sapp are no longer interested in beating the crap out of one another. And that Warren is capable of w

You can Google the buyout. It states that technically he is still an employee of LSU. He cannot take any coaching job within the SEC for at least 18 months. He must make at least one public appearance a year for LSU. They paid him $5M in December and he’s owed $2M in 2022.

Like I said, it’s in his best interest to take a year off and get a job in a studio rather than forfeit millions of dollars to be an analyst here. He’s free to be around the program but it’s very unlikely he’ll have an official role until at minimum 2023 but even that is unlikely since he’s due $1M+ every year through 2025. And yes even if he’s working for free it can’t be official.

Ed O can be an admin assistant and our special guest speaker every gameday. Then hire him as an assistant coach after the smoke clears.

Again, he can work. He gets a W-2 from LSU? Who cares. He can't coach in the SEC? I'm sure you know that UM isn't in the SEC. One public appearance in a year? Really?

But this is all just a bunch of distraction from the real issue.

Just stop.

Sure. Whatever you choose to believe. UM's Human Resources Department has no say-so when it comes to the Athletic Department. Sure.

Aren't we the same University that ended conversations with Tom Jurich?

You've convinced me, Ed Orgeron will soon be hired. Also, Kiffin, Freeze, and Briles will get consultant jobs. Art Briles.
You do not know Pinga, but you talk a good game.

You post 9 times a year to say that? Hilarious.

And, yes, I do not know pinga, it's not my thing like it seems to be for you. But, hey, that's OK, not that there's anything wrong with that. Love who you want to love, enjoy that pinga.

I'd put him in the booth with DBJ and Zagacki for a year. A) It would be a phenomenal upgrade to our broadcast and B) it would allow him to spend as much time as he wants around Hecht and probably would be enough distance to avoid any jimmy rustling of the oldheads that wouldn't want him hired back in an "official" capacity with the program
