Does anyone remember this game?

Interesting comparison. Immediate reaction is Indiana is better up front than that OSU team was. Maybe not in terms of pure talent, but definitely in execution.

Biggest thing we need to worry about over the next two weeks is that pick play their DL does so well. A DT will not even worry about rushing the passer his only responsibility is to run into an OL not blocking him to create space for a rusher. It's crazy how good they are at this.

Fortunately, I have faith Mario and Mirabel will have a gameplan.

In 2006, Florida was the 34th ranked scoring offense and 7th ranked scoring defense. We are 26th and 5th.

Both teams are 7-point underdogs.
I feel like we are in the early stages of a Saban build. Call me crazy, but when Bama started dominating the LOS they had Greg Mcelroy who wasn't all that. That teams LOS willed that team to begin their rise. Once they they did that it became way more easier to attract skill players and thats when they went on their run. This reminds me of that team

Mendoza >Smith is biggest difference
What about the oline? I remember the gators dline having a meet at the QB party in that game.. Mendoza is a DAWG and that dude has tried to Slice our neck in that Cal game, he will stand their and take a hit, but as long as we clog his get away straight up the middle, I think we can get to him, I dont trust their oline. AT ALL..

ALOT OF PEOPLE GOT A PLAN.. Hope Mesidor is good to go is all.

Our trench advantage on both sides has been undervalued all off season. We should be able to control both lines of scrimmage on Indiana. You would hope they would have learned after the Ohio State game but I guess not.

The Gators were a 7-point underdog.

This was the team I thought we most resembled heading into the playoffs. I thought of this game too.

Miami does not have the statistical profile of the other modern national champs of the playoff era. If we were to win, it would signal that teams similar to that mold (2003 LSU, 06 UF, 2002 OSU, 2007 LSU) have a shot to win it all. The last one that was kind of similar was 2015 Alabama but they had a more dominant margin of victory.

Like I said in the Ohio game. Im never going into a game thinking the team with the trenches advantage is some big underdog. Most i can say is, its a dven battle. Am sorry but Bama was a dud long before the playoff, they were playing sheit for a month. Oregon looked like dog water v Texas Tech and was stat padding late v a team with zero offense. These wins are impressive for the score lines. Its hard to function when the defense can pressure and cover. And what do u do when the big maulers are moving on the O line? A&M, Ohio or Ole Miss....all got ran over. Finesse offenses are easier to deal with that what we bring. This should be a 3 point spread at worse for us.

Not saying the score will be the same, but the lead up feels similar. Strange to see a team with a pronounced DL advantage as the heavy underdog.

People were saying the same thing before the Ohio State game. It was crazy to hear them concede that we had the advantage on the line of scrimmage both ways but still had us as double digit underdogs.

Sports media types love hyperbole, and recency bias is a real thing. Everyone is gassing Indy because they beat up an overmatched Oregon team and an Alabama team that shouldn’t have been there. Indiana has played several close games this season and let’s not forget they barely beat a dog Penn State team that had fired their coach and lost their starting QB. But to hear everyone talk now they’ve beaten every team 75-0 and Cegneti invented the forward pass.
