Ah. Stereotypes. Gotta love those....

I'm glad others are calling out the Strong support for what it is.Ah there we have it another person with a "fit" excuse. So just to remind the board, that is translated into: he's black.
I find it quite racist when people insinuate that Strong couldn't succeed somewhere BECAUSE he's black. "No no Charlie. You come over here where I think you'll do better.". That's a pretty dangerous mindset and one based at minimum on a complete fallacy. Surrrrre, a Sumlin or Shaw or even a Babers would have them end up not even being bowl eligible this year? Strong had his shot and he blew it. It had nothing to do with any good ol boys or the exaggerated poor state that Brown left the program in.
Poll time to gauge where this board stands.
Surprised 17.95% want Strong to be the next coach. Thought it'd be a lower percentage.
Bet that percentage would drop if we ran this poll again after they play Texas Tech and Baylor.
Would he be successful here? Who knows. I think he would fix our defense, have us playing with toughness and energy, and stock up our roster with talent. I have concerns about his offense, which is why he's third on my list. But he would definitely be a better fit here than the ****hole in Austin.

lol
that ****hole has facilities, financial support, fan support, and a stadium we could only dream of having....
Here's why people say he's a bad fit at Texas and a better fit here:
- He built elite defenses at South Carolina, Florida and Louisville. They played with swagger and were dominant. His defense at Texas is bad. I believe Texas is the outlier. Considering the makeup of Miami's roster and talent base, I believe we will be closer to the first three examples.
- Texas has horrible quarterbacks in a conference where you need a good quarterback. We have a good quarterback.
- The Texas high school coaches turned on him because he said he wanted to focus his recruiting in Florida. We are located in the state of Florida.
- The boosters were against Strong from the start, as were many of the fans. The Texas job is notorious for its glad-handing and media requirements. Miami doesn't have those issues.
- Texas is the most overrated program in all of sports. Aside from one year with Vince Young, they have been underachieving losers for 40 years. We are Miami and will win big whenever we have a good coach.
I believe Strong is a good coach and can win here. I understand why others disagree. A small minority are motivated by race. You can tell who they are because they are the first to bring it up. Most are simply turned off by what happened at Texas. I can understand that.
But fit and circumstances need to be considered when evaluating any coach. Chris Peterson was a miracle worker at Boise State and is currently 2-5 in the Pac-10 with Washington. Rich Rodriguez was our dream coach until he flopped at Michigan. Gary Patterson was "exposed" as a coach when TCU moved to the Big 12, and now he's the toast of football. Howard Schnellenberger was an outright failure as a head coach until he got to Miami.
Some people are taking too black and white of an approach to Strong. Are there concerns about his ability to build a staff and an offense? Absolutely. But to compare his track record to someone like Shannon is asinine. He has had a ton of success across several programs.

I'm asking this, respectfully:
How is Charlie Strong any different from Will Muschamp?
And would you hire Will Muschamp?
