Do we have a shot against FSU?

We’ll show up ready to play — probably the most inspired/energized our team will look all year.

With that said, if we can get some early momentum with a turnover, 3 and out on defense, or an explosive play on offense, then it will give our guys a much needed boost in confidence.

The longer this game remains close, the more pressure on FSU. We got nothing to lose — our guys should be playing loose. Even with Jake, I think we can do this.

Emotionally I so want to say yes, we come out for the first time this year and it all comes together.
But then it's like foolishly making yourself believe the really hot girlfriend who dumped you, realizes she made a mistake and will come crawling back to you.

Here is how we do it.
1. Parish or combo of backs run for at least 150 yards and a TD or two.
2. We have a receiver (X or Colbie) go for 100 yards.
3. Garcia or TVD goes 15 of 25 for 250 yards and 2 TD's no INT's.
4. D plays lights out.
5. Penalty yards under 30 and TO's 1 or 0. We need a take away or 2 also.

Miami 28 ****heads 24.
Highly unlikely but not unrealistic. We have a punchers chance.

Lol, F$U is trash too. Line up and lets see its min 50/50 but we always have a game we pull out of our asses, this one may be it.

Are people really going to keep wondering if TVD is playing all the way up until kickoff? Jfc

Should've won that game. We were up 26-3 at the half, and their go-ahead touchdown came off of a ball our defense batted in the air, but then Dalvin Cook somehow caught and walked into the endzone.

It was 23-10 at halftime, not 26-3, and the batted ball TD was early in the 3rd quarter to make the game 23-17, not to take the lead.

It was also caught and ran in by Karlos Williams, not Dalvin.

Dalvin had 2 late TD runs that broke our back.

Great post no doubt, everything you said can make us dangerous.
There comes a time when you say why not us why not now why not this moment.
Yes we’re this yes we’re that BUT TONIGHT we’re what no one has seen this year we’re NOT the same team.
We’re a team that no one wants to play TONIGHT and FSU has too .

YES ABSOLUTELY we’ll make plays all night for ESPN TOP 10 .

WHY NOT US TONIGHT.

GOCANES

You’re right. Old memories have a habit of kinda getting mixed up.

You’re right. Old memories have a habit of kinda getting mixed up.

Especially when the 2014 and 2016 games both had the same script.

Kaaya as the QB, both games at home, both games at night, both games Miami takes an early lead and loses in heartbreaking fashion. No worries. That game was 8 years ago, if you can believe it. Crazy.

Knowing the history of this rivalry, both teams always have a shot. We've lost in years I thought there was no chance and the opposite is true.

I think 2010 was one of the most shocking ones I can remember.

We had beaten them 8 of the past 11 times, we were ranked #13, it was home, it was Jimbo's first year and we thought they'd be rebuilding, it was Randy's 4th year and the 2008 class were all 3rd year players, FSU had only played 1 tough game and got blown off the field in Norman, and we went up to Columbus and played a close game, then we beat Clemson at Clemson a couple weeks later.

And they came in and just blew us off the ******* field. Believe we got down 21-0, and the game was 31-7 early in the 3rd quarter. I couldn't believe it. I don't remember what the line was, but it had to be pretty decent. I remember during the tailgate all my FSU people were saying stuff like "Yeah, we're a year or two away, Jimbo has to get his kids, Bobby hadn't recruited well..." etc.....and they just obliterated us. I didn't think there was a chance in **** we'd lose, and not only did we but the game wasn't even remotely close.

They're an average team.
Average teams can be beat by anyone, any Saturday.

Travis is a below average QB vs good defenses.

And it's FSU/Miami.
Sure, we have a shot.

The Vegas book (+8 1/2) is telling us TVD is going to sit this one out.

Time to wake up #13.

I assume FSU will put 7 in the box and take away the run game and force Garcia to pass. If that's the case, that offense we saw on Saturday gives me no hope of any passing attack. Just totally anemic.

I have been complaining about this week in, week out, but I would like to see Gattis take some deep shots. Maybe a WR makes a spectacular play or you get a PI call. I realize our OL has not been particularly stout and providing time for deep throws but, this same unit more or less gave TVD time to throw downfield last year. The lack of a deep passing game has been peculiar to me.
Garcia made 4-5 deep throws against UVA but didn't connect. Most were overthrown.

We might not win with our O being in shambles but LOL at thinking it’s far fetched to beat this noles team like they got some vintage 90’s squad..anything could happen

My minds telling me nooooo. But my bodyyyy, my bodyyyyy's also telling me noooooo.

In all honesty I have no idea. I'm going in expecting to lose and Mario can keep recruiting his tail off. The biggest issue is we haven't seen miami be consistent at anything but underperforming. We've just done it in different ways. When we run well we cant throw. When we throw well we cant run. Some days we can block like the best OL in the country and others we look like diarrhea through a tin horn. On defense we either give up, what felt like, 16 plays of 60+ yards to MTSU or we hold UNC to their lowest scoring and yardage game.

If Miami puts it together on Offense and we contain and get pressure on Travis, we have a really good chance. A couple BIG "if's" there.

I feel the same way about Colbie. Their DB's are going to have their hands full with him if we can complete a forward pass.
Only difference is Travis will target him frequently while, being good, Colby will not be used ... Gattis is "saving" him for the big games.
