Chad,

Will you still coach at U School now that they are no longer part of the FHSAA and are moving into the independent school league?

You guys have absolutely no idea what a recruit goes through. Absolutely NONE! The stuff coming from fans, reporters, etc. is not something you could begin to wrap your mind around.

Must be tough taking all the free trips, hand outs and having whores escort you around campus.

and no offense, I don't believe quincy had 50 commitable offers, and if he did, how the **** did you allow him to pick muschamp and the gators? for so many reasons.

I'd still like to hear why your issue couldn't have been discussed with Hurlie/Barrow instead of Twitter.

Again, I did not take the position of manipulating the recruiting process. That's just how you end up making the wrong decision.

first, thanks for coming on the board to try and clear the air. As for your comments, I read them with an open mind and thought "ok, I agree with that" or "I don't agree necessarily, but I can see how you would think that" but you lost me on this last one. Don't like manipulating the process? So you felt like you couldn't use your alumni status to contact to former teammates in Barrow and Brown and ask if there was an issue with Quincy when you are already very involved in his recruitment? Cmon, man.

This is the crux of the matter and the part of it that smells like ****. Calling Hurlie/Barrow to discuss an issue so that you understand what's going on instead of saying poisonous crap on Twitter isn't "manipulating the recruiting process".

This is all some petty, junior high female ****. From both sides.

If Golden doesn't want to (or can't) play the game, he needs to kick rocks.

If guys like Chad want to mold young men, they can't act like bleeding vaginas every time something doesn't go their way. Handle it like a man.

Chad could really teach Golden a thing for two about how to side-step questions and excuse making, which is really quite amazing, cause Golden is pretty **** good at it.

I also agree quincy will either be moved to safety and or will transfer in 2 years.

AUCane

I am not sure why he wasn't offered by Al Golden and that was never my problem. Problem was never ever met with Golden. EVER! When you have a child, you want the best for them. My wife and I's best was a free education to any school. That's what you wish for when they are sitting in the back seat drinking a Capri Sun without a care in the World.

He worked hard and found himself in a position where he had offers from multiple schools. I was long satisfied as a parent. I know all too well, professional football is a slim chance. An education lasts a lifetime.

So the alumni in me had a problem that with me attending multiple camps, bringing prospects to camps, talking up the Golden regime and otherwise supporting our new head coach, he nor his staff members saw it fit to have a conversation with me about a top prospect who also happened to be my son. This on the heels of passing on Skai Moore, Jordan Cunningham and MacGarrett Kings.

Jimbo Fisher did not offer Quincy Wilson but Jimbo Fisher met with us in his office. No one asked him to do that! He did so on his own accord. That man held up the Sears trophy this year.

Thanks for the effort you are making trying to have a dialogue. As you can see, many here will not take the opportunity to ask questions and are unserious.

I don't know why the U's staff would outreach to local coaches and then apparently avoid you. This does not seem rational.

Many will disagree on the idea of offering legacy scholarships, but loyalty is a two-way street and the numbers are really few and infrequent so I don't see much of a downside unless the slot is needed because you are offering an elite player at a position of special need.

I do agree on the notion that there are some parents that have a history that could be problematic for the team, and we don't need that. As a coach you have likely have experience with parents who don't see their kid's skills in the same way that you do.

As a UM fan I'm sorry your son did not have an opportunity to play there. I do compliment you for having a child who has earned the opportunity for an athletic scholarship. Anyone who has paid for their child's college education knows it's real money. I wish him continuted success.

Will your resentment against coach Golden and his staff carry over to your current student athletes?

My resentment never carried over to student athletes. I tell them the truth. The funny thing is that before being disrespected, I lied to kids about Miami because of my obvious bias towards Golden. I bought in as many of you did when he came on board.

Now I just tell the truth as I do about every school and that's what I am supposed to do. As fans that's tough to swallow.

What supposed "lies" were you telling to help Miami and Golden? As for being "disrespected", that seems to be the problem with the SFL mentality of players and coaches. EVERYTHING short of being coddled and catered to is being "disrespected".

You dudes really need to get off of that.. These coaches that you guys are bashing in here on a routine basis get paid about $2k a year to provide all they can for these kids. MOST, not all, are doing it as a labor of love. MOST care about the kids they coach and want to see them succeed. MOST advise them along those guidelines. Keep bashing coaches, South Florida players and keeping the stadium half full. They will continue to march out of here to help other schools win national champions. Go ahead and bash me on that but it's that damned truth. Some of you guys need to look in the mirror.

I have to take a break for a bit.

I appreciate the mature individuals in here with perspective and insight.

I noticed you avoided answering the tough questions, which is what you've done throughout this thread where you claim to want to clear the air.

What lies were you telling to help out UM and Golden before being "dissed"?

Yes, the coaches work hard, so what? Coaches work hard everywhere. But at what point does not being catered to become the same as being "dissed?"
You talk about how the kids will keep leaving to win titles elsewhere, but that's exactly the problem. UM doesn't bow down to and spend every waking moment catering to you and they are "dissing" you. Schools like FSU, Bama, Ohio State, etc. intentionally slow-play SFL recruits, drop them at the last moment, and do things that UM would be crucified for, and the SFL community still falls all over themselves the next year to get the honor of being recruited by those programs. It's a HUGE double standard.

What I don't like is double standard -- he feels that as an alumni he was entitled to a meeting with the coaches even if UM wasn't interested in recruiting his son, yet it didn't occur to him that he could have used that same alumni status to reach out the staff personally after he felt disrespected rather than bash them on social media.

I think both sides would agree they each could have done a better job in this situation..

Kinda off topic but it related to Chad and his son not getting an offer.

More deserving of a scholly to Miami....
Ray Lewis III or Quincy Wilson

Granted I have not seen either one of these kids play at the HS level

OP is responsible for David Perry getting offered. Trolled the **** out of Tommie Robinson.

Go kick rocks OP.

by ability? probably wilson.

except i'd much rather offer lewis a scholarship for pr's sake because that would be a nightmare if ray got mad at us. quincy doesn't get an offer and most people say "who the **** is chad wilson?" we don't owe every has-been alum's kid a scholarship.

Hey Chad, if you talk to Skai can you tell him Golden ****ed up his recruitment. That kid should be a Cane and I think Wilson should be a Cane.
