I am not sure why he wasn't offered by Al Golden and that was never my problem. Problem was never ever met with Golden. EVER! When you have a child, you want the best for them. My wife and I's best was a free education to any school. That's what you wish for when they are sitting in the back seat drinking a Capri Sun without a care in the World.

He worked hard and found himself in a position where he had offers from multiple schools. I was long satisfied as a parent. I know all too well, professional football is a slim chance. An education lasts a lifetime.

So the alumni in me had a problem that with me attending multiple camps, bringing prospects to camps, talking up the Golden regime and otherwise supporting our new head coach, he nor his staff members saw it fit to have a conversation with me about a top prospect who also happened to be my son. This on the heels of passing on Skai Moore, Jordan Cunningham and MacGarrett Kings.

Jimbo Fisher did not offer Quincy Wilson but Jimbo Fisher met with us in his office. No one asked him to do that! He did so on his own accord. That man held up the Sears trophy this year.

What kind of grown man Google's near by boxing clubs that he does not attend and issues a challenge to another man to meet him there? Give it up. Let's just all agree that blackvern is a really tough guy.

I know what you've said about Quincy's recruitment, so I get that you feel our staff disrespected you. However, I wonder what your coaching peers are saying in south Florida. Do they feel as you do - disrespected? Also, more generally as a Cane what's your overall perception of the staff and direction of the football program? Anything you would change going forward?

Chad, I don't know you personally but thanks for coming on and giving some of your thoughts on the process. Hopefully it can knock some sense into a few posters and make them realize that there is more to the recruiting process than they might realize.

I think kids grow up rooting for the home team. They then get a chance to see other places, be around other staffs and realize that there are some better choices for them out there. That's the reality unfortunately. Kids these days are wiser about and have more information about the recruiting process than ever before. No one here can reasonably argue against that.

Dalvin Cook wants to be a program changer - goes to the National Champs.

Johnnie Dixon's #1 priority is education - goes to Ohio State.

The list goes on and on. They are just as gullible as they've always been.

My resentment never carried over to student athletes. I tell them the truth. The funny thing is that before being disrespected, I lied to kids about Miami because of my obvious bias towards Golden. I bought in as many of you did when he came on board.

Now I just tell the truth as I do about every school and that's what I am supposed to do. As fans that's tough to swallow.

Exactly. So far as Quincy's responses, I allowed him to express himself. YOu have to let teenagers do that within reason. If you bottle them up, their frustration manifests itself in other very unpredictable ways. He could have said a lot worse things. Fans didn't like it A) because some of it was the dirty truth and B) it was something negative about the team they love.

I raised a great child, who has made his entire family proud. Nothing anyone says in here will change that. Sorry.

no you don't. you could raise your kid to not be an entitled little **** that cries on the internet when he doesn't get his way. the more you coddle him, the more entitled he's going to get. he could have vented frustrations without trashing our school and calling us a garbage and joke program, but you let him get away with it so he continued to do it.
 
I'd still like to hear why your issue couldn't have been discussed with Hurlie/Barrow instead of Twitter. You seem to feel (perhaps rightly so) that as an alum you should've been given the special circumstance of a personal discussion, yet as an alum you don't seem to feel that same sense of special responsibility in handling the issue in private between coaches that you obviously could've contacted if you wanted to.
