Do Mirabal/Mario

Context doesn’t matter on CIS.

Well, I can certainly understand if there is a certain philosophy that Mario and Mirabal have that is "strongly encouraged." But my question is, is something like "You are not allowed to run outside the tackles" (lol) something that a 40-something year old OC would put up with? Because IMO, if that was the case, I think more often than not those folks bolt for independence.
The Oline coach shouldn't have any authority over the running plays called, especially when Mario and Mirabal never called plays

There's a word out there for using the same formations and running the same play over and over again and expecting different results. This is a depressing thread. 50 plus year old coaches don't typically change their coaching philosophies and strategies. It's hardwired in them.

Someone on here that personally knows Dawson said the run game is all Mirabal/Mario.

Mario's OC at Oregon was JOE MOORHEAD. That's the kind of offense he prefers
This isn’t even a debate anymore . Mario and Dawson constantly mention Mirabal has a big hand in the run game. In which he does. Why is this even being asked at this point ?

Here is the quote:

“Yeah I just do whatever he wants to do to be honest with you - in the run game.”

It would be very easy to qualify that sentence with "in the heavy run game/in the short yardage game" but he did not. I hope that's enough context for you.

“All the short yardage stuff and goal line stuff, I just do whatever he wants to do to be honest with you, in the run game”

Interesting choice to leave off the beginning.

Mario was given Soros level bank... and here we are.
You seem to not understand the role the coach plays in convincing people to donate "bank". Those cuban billionaires giving money is directly related to Mario being here, and Mario wouldnt have come if he didnt get the school and big donors to commit.

They're not calling plays per se, but they definitely have heavy input and/or step-in at times. It would be kinda silly to think otherwise. Offensive HC's always do this.

So they're Mario fans 1st and Miami fans second

I saw that the day of and my thought was he was being sarcastic because of the way the question was asked. So, yea context does matter but not to some on CIS.

I’ve never seen anywhere else. WR in motion to lead block. Ugh.

But maybe I’ve had too many coffee, but anyone notice how Dmoney don’t ever say anything about Mirabel? Hmmm…

To me, this run game scheme is as much of an abomination as our defense scheme was last year. It’s what is stopping us from being undefeated.

Mirabel needs to stick to technique only.

I'll add a little more salt to the wound... now imagine selling that to an elite WR1 type recruit.

The point is that he gets to select from a better pool of coaches and players... yet the final goal seems just as elusive

I'm not buying this as an excuse. If they completely control the run game and only want dive plays where did the jet sweep to Toney for a TD come from? Did Dawson go off stript?

Like most things the truth is always somewhere in the middle. Mirabel is the run game coordinator but that doesnt mean he's calling certain run plays over others. Dawson 100% is the guy calling the plays.

Its the same offense as last year except Beck isn't doing nearly as much RPO stuff as Ward did. Maybe they dont trust him to? After 4 picks on Friday maybe they shouldn't?

After all of the evidence from Mario and Mirabal’s prior stops and now here, you’d think that people would see it for what it is by now.

Mirabal is like Mario’s brother. Nepotism has handicapped our Canes for the majority of the last 20 years. Alfredo Golden with his BFF D’No and refusing to fire him. Richt with his son as the QB corch and refusing to fire him are just a couple of examples.

Mario is his own worst enemy. As I’ve said repeatedly since he was hired. Recruit top 10 classes, hire great coordinators and let them cook. GET THE **** OUT THE WAY, Wario and Mirabal!

Yes. It’s nuanced. Some of the runs called are Carson’s checks too. But I guess that leans into what Mario/mirabel feel their guys are comfortable with.

So he definitely controls what Dawson calls is what you’re saying.

He can be posse doff all he wants but it hasn’t been working.

Likely not to change his hard headed ways either.
That's NOT what I'm saying. He takes pride in the rushing game. It was off Saturday. He'll want to fix it.
